Shibboleth eats search results

We recently implemented Shiibboleth for authentication at our site. We did get that to work. Yay! But... We are now finding that, after we log in, search information is no longer being returned after a search. Looking at the logs, the server is logging the same output as it does on another server which is not running shibboleth. The only difference is that the web browser does not seem to be displaying results. Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on? I know there are few who have implemented Shibboleth, but am wondering if there are any others who have lost search results after logins in a similar way. I'm running Koha 18.11.4. Order of display of 246 $i and $a fields

Hi! My users have noticed something that's bothered me, but I held off clutching my pearls about it until one of my users complained to me!:) I'm wondering if this might be worth my learning to try to file a bug? The MARC21 Bibliographic Format for subfield i in the 246 field specifies putting a colon at the end of the text in that field, intending the data in that subfield to precede the title data, i.e.: 245 00$aBulletin of atomic scientists. *246* *1#**$i*At head of title:*$a*Science and public affairs*$f*Jan. 1970-Apr. 1974 *246* *1#**$i*Title on container:*$a*New Brunswick royal gazette *246* *1#**$i*Alternate issues published with title:*$a*Chicago daily telegraph But Koha displays the $i data *after* the title in the staff client and the OPAC, e.g. an example from our catalog: https://keys.bywatersolutions.com/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=… Displays: Other title:...Rees on ships [Binder's spine title:]. As an OCLC user, I have to follow MARC21 and OCLC Bibliographic Formats and Standards, which also has these data examples: 245 0 0 Bulletin of atomic scientists. 246 1 ǂi At head of title: ǂa Science and public affairs ǂf January 1970-April 1974 245 0 0 Quartetti per archi. 246 1 ǂi Colophon title: ǂa Smyccove kvartety 246 1 ǂi Panel title: ǂa Welcome to big Wyoming 245 0 4 The Bluegrass album. 246 1 ǂi Volume 3 has title: ǂa California connection So I have to input the colon at the end of data entered into the $i, and then it looks really weird displayed after the $a data in Koha. Introduction to the Koha Community

Hello everyone, I am Raghav Arora, a 3rd year undergrad student from India. I am currently working on a project on Reports Management and Decision Support System for my institute library that uses Koha as it's ILS. While working on the project, I am having certain doubts on the relationships between various tables in the koha database schema, and the purpose of some of the fields. I am joining the koha-devel mailing list as well, to understand the technical details of the database. Of the many doubts that I have, I do not understand the difference between the tables reserves and old_reserves. If I need to get a list of all the holds, for which the books are currently not available in the library, which table would I refer to? Update OS vs Update Koha

First, some background. We currently have a Koha server running 17.05. This server has been updated in place since sometime in 2012 or 2013, going back at least to version 3.04. For a variety of reasons, it's time to start over with our Koha install. To that end, I had setup a new Ubuntu 18.04 server and installed Koha 18.11 via the packages. Going forward, I hope to not fall two years behind again, but during the re-implementation phase we did not want to do and updates. Today I ran "apt upgrade" on the Ubuntu server console, and to my surprise watched the new server update koha-common to 19.05. My prior experience is this does **not** normally update the koha-common packages. Instead, I would need to change the sources or do a dist-upgrade. What did I miss here? In the future, how can I update the OS without updating the Koha application? I want to be able to install linux, apache, etc security updates during an academic term, and be able to save the koha application updates for between terms, when have down-time for review and staff training. How to rebuild zebra in koha 18.05?

I tried to rebuild the zebra index in koha 18.05 with "sudo koha-rebuild-zebra -a -f -b -v sgb" but the terminal shows: error retrieving biblio 157084 at /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/ rebuild_zebra.pl line 683. .DBD::mysql::db selectrow_array failed: Unknown column 'format' in 'where clause' [for Statement " SELECT metadata FROM biblio_metadata WHERE biblionumber=? Regarding marc framework - extra subfields

Hi, Having a query related to marc framework. Currently we are using 16.05(This is old version, but due to unavailability of internet we had to use this). For our serial control, I added few extra subfields in marc framework for 952 tag and they are added to "more_subfields_xml" coloumn in the items table. Now when I tried to import this sql database(16.05) to koha version 17.11.11, indexing is not working. After deleting the coloumn data of more_subfields_xml in the items table, indexing is working without any problem. Is this a normal behavior or any issue. Please guide me if any possibility is there to import the data into 17.11 without having to delete the data in more_subfields_xml in items table.
