Age restriction no longer working?

Good morning, We have been using Age restriction in Koha for 2 years, using field 521$a to input our restriction information (FSK 13) and mapping that to biblioitems.agerestriction - to restrict the age of adult graphic novels to people over the age of 13. AgeRestrictionMarker is set in Administration. This has suddenly stopped working. I have checked the manual but it doesn’t appear to have changed. Is this an error in Koha? Hourly backup

Search does not work

Hello all, I was hoping you could guide us through our issue with search. We have installed Koha a few months ago and we cannot get the search to work. Both the OPAC and the staff interface always present the result “No results found”, even though we know we have over 600 records and 1000+ items (e.g. a link to the details page works). Version Koha: 20.05.04.000 Version SO ('uname -a'): Linux koha 5.4.0-58-generic #64-Ubuntu SMP Wed Dec 9 08:16:25 UTC 2020 x86_64 We use UNIMARC. When attempting to reindex zebra we get the following error: zebraidx(135744) [warn] Record didn’t contain match fields in (bib1,Local-number) Why doesn’t it work? Where do we start? Framework ACQ causes mutilated special characters

Hi We have tested the following with Koha 18.11.03 and 20.11.00, both on Debian 9. We are using framework ACQ (downloaded from https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/MARC_frameworks ) and have activated Koha system preference "UseACQFrameworkForBiblioRecords". In Koha menu "Acquisitions > Vendor > New basket > Add order to basket: From a new (empty) record" we can see the MARC fields from framework ACQ. Now if we enter for example "Mäuse und Vögel" in MARC 245 $a an order is created which shows the correct title "Mäuse und Vögel" in column "Order". But when clicking this title to open the cataloging view we see the title is actually mutilated to "Mũse und Vg̲el". Or in other words, Unicode strings "äu" (octal 303 244 165) and "ög" (octal 303 266 147) have become octal 165 314 203 and 147 314 262. Can anyone please confirm this? When did you last know it worked and can you find any messages in any logs from that time? Do you still have some package called something like "cron" installed on there? Maybe systemd-cron? Electronic Collections in Koha (items, holdings, coded?)

Good afternoon, I'm writing to ask how people tend to handle electronic collections in Koha. I'm coming from Millennium and also Alma. Does Koha offer any special advantages or have any idiosyncrasies with respect to electronic holdings? At this point, I assume I will just create item records for everything and put URL's in the bib 856. Is it typical to allow the item records to have an "available" status, but just make sure they can't be put on hold? Has anyone taken the approach of not creating item records or else using checkin/holdings record instead (not sure if either is even possible in Koha). Also, if I wanted to create a "scope" of all digital collections to allow limiting in the OPAC, is this best done by declaring the collection a "library", or by using collection code(s), locations, library groups, or some combination of all? Although we really are only one library, some of our collections are so distinct that I've been wondering if I could realize some advantage by setting them up as libraries (and then using library groups to collocate the digital collections, etc.). I'm continuing to experiment to see the results in action, but it's been slow and unfortunately, I'm working with a deadline, so can't leisurely compare and contrast approaches as I would like. Any advice as to not configure something so as to avoid being sorry later is appreciated. Thank you! Thanks for your time! Tasha R. Bales
