Hi With the increase in traffic on the list as more people become aware of and participate in Koha, I wonder if a digest option could be made available. Depending on the version of Mailman being run it is available as a configurable option. Like many others recently I came across Koha as a result of the article in February 2003 Linux Journal. Whilst I have library catalogue issues with all the books, journals, papers, CDs, CD-ROMs, DVDs, videos and such in my study (aka home) the article was more of a provocation to thinking about other applications. A similar market sector to library automation is museum inventory systems; they're not identical but enough synergy exists that many of the proprietary library systems have museum modules. Also there is additional stimulus as my wife works for one the national museums here in Great Britain. The stories she tells me of the inflexibilty of their in-house system would turn your stomach. So since the publication of the LJ paper I've been musing on how Koha might be used as a base for a museum system. For the last 30 years my role has been programmer/consultant of text retrieval systems. A cross industry product that I've deployed in research libraries and museums. Including a recent bid to a museum-come-library for cataloguing and loan management of a non-book collection. Wonder whether there is any interest from others in such a museums module? Due dates

I realize this is entirely not what Koha was designed for, but I haven't found anything else remotely close to solving my problems. I manage an equipment cage at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and use a really terrible software package called Athena for all of my circulation purposes. Anyhow, I want to switch to using Koha, but I have some questions and or ideas. One thing that would be really useful would be to have the due date/month/year have a preferences setting that could have it automatically default to the current date, x number of days in advance, etc, depending on what format the item was, etc. (Athena does have this, but it doesn't work the way we need it to...) It's a real problem to have to specify this stuff every time something is checked out. ALso, and this is very non-library related, we have a rather ridiculous checkout periods system in effect. All equipment checked out before 5 on any weekday must be back by 5, after 5 can be checked out overnight or be due back by 9:45, etc. So an hour:min setting for the due dates would be great too. This mail is just to tell you that i'll be away next week. So don't expect me to answer to any question about 1.9.0 or future of koha or anything else. A "bad new": i think 1.9.1 will be delayed 2 more weeks (mid-march), because of some problems with <010 MARC fields. Installation Mistake

Hi, I was installing Koha 1.9.0 and I made a mistake on step 3 of the Quick Installation Guide. I forgot to include the user and password. The command should be (mysql -uusername -ppassword Koha < koha.mysql) I forgot to include the -uusername and -ppassword. It accept the command but how can I correct my mistake? Thanks. Liza
