Internal Server Error on Fedora Core 3

Hi, while trying to solve the problems with Z39.50 on a RedHat 9.0 box (reported in my previous messages), I tried to install Fedora Core 3 on another computer, and Koha 2.2.0RC5, to see whether those problems depended on the operating system. I performed a standard installation of Fedora Core 3, and closely followed Joshua Ferraro's instructions on www.kohadocs.org (more or less equivalent to the procedures I followed on RedHat 9.0). Result: Koha gets installed without any problem, but on calling the very first page with mozilla: http://localhost:8080 ("Welcome to Koha" flashes rapidly, and then) it moves to http://localhost:8080/cgi-bin/koha/mainpage.pl However, this gives an "Internal Server Error". (Error logs do not provide much more insight.) Any user (including apache, with sudo -u apache) can execute from shell the above script, which produces the expected html output. So, I guess it's a problem with the Apache configuration. What is strange to me, is that httpd.conf and koha-httpd.conf in my Fedora 3 box looks pretty much the same as httpd.conf/koha-httpd.conf in my RedHat 9.0 box. Nor have I made any other change to the standard configuration of Fedora. Any suggestion? Thank you in advance. Giuseppe.

Can we use Koha?

Hello Koha We are a not-for-profit organisation and we run a small library (approx 10,000 items). We currently use a manual card system but would like to move to a system such as Koha. We have seem Koha online and it looks very good, but can you please tell us a bit more? What would it cost for start up and ongoing maintenance? Could we use Koha to make the catalogue searchable online via our website? What sort of computer and support software would we need? A new document has been loaded on http://www.kohadocs.org: "Installing Koha on Fedora" by Joshua Ferraro. It is available there as a DocBook XML source tree, as well as a html version and a pdf version derived from the xml source. For some reason, I ended up by confusing and mixing the roles and scopes of "Item types" (well described by BWS Johnson's very helpful "Koha. A newbie's guide", which I am following), and "Branch categories", which were not covered by Johnson's guide - simply because they are probably a feature of newer releases of Koha. (I had, for some reasons, speculated about the possibility of having different branches of a same library dealing each with different subjects or even item types, e.g. books or CDs.) Thanks again. Administrator interface and Personal page: new users

Hi everybody, can I point out two (minor) problems with Koha 2.2.0RC5 ? 1) Member's daytime phone. Phone numbers entered as "fax" in the Members administrator's page, are shown as "(wk)" in the Member's own Personal page, where one would expect a work phone ("daytime phone", in the Members administrator's page). 2) When the Administrator adds a new Member, the password given to that Member is not displayed or sent by e-mail to the new Member. To know one's password, the Administrator must manually "change" the User's password, once a new User has been created. The User cannot change his/her own password from the User's Personal page. Modifying Z39.50 Servers from Parameters web interface

Hi, while I can enter new Z39.50 Servers using the intranet web interface (Parameters - Z39.50 Servers), I cannot edit or delete them with Koha-2.2RC5. E.g., clicking on the "Modify Z39.50 Server" for any of them produces an empty form, much like the one one has to fill to enter a new Z39.50 Server, but with all entries emptied. I can of course modify the appropriate mysql table manually, by entering mysql. I guess it's a problem with the php interface. Regards, Giuseppe. P.S. Hi everybody, Hi Sebastian, I've got the same problem as reported by Sebastian when launching the z3950. I use RedHat 9.0 and Koha 2.2.0RC5. Strangely enough, I had managed to have z3950 working on the same system, with a previous version of koha. (Note: I did not upgrade, but rather uninstalled the previous version and installed the newest one from scratch. I am still practicing with Koha, so I could do it without much harm.) Following your advice, Ive installed Perl's extended module libraries. But as for the must add libmysqlclient-dev there seems to be two options.
