New material in the Koha usersguide

The Koha users guide has been updated with new material, primarily toward the end. Chapter 7 now includes a copy of Joshua Ferraro's document on backups and restoring; Appendix A is a guide to the Koha database structure; and Appendix B discusses translating Koha. But there are also new user comments scattered throughout. Hello, I'm still trying to get LDAP authentication to work on Koha. Is there anyway to modify this to get error messages printed to opac-error_log, or use a specific user to search the directory. I'm not very good at Perl unfortunately, better at PHP. Kent N

Export/Import of MARC records

I am able to upload record from LOC using Koha's upload feature. However, some other libraries only generate a text file for MARC records, and it cannot be imported by Koha, how can I convert the file into a format that is recognizable by Koha? Can't Create Items

Hi, I've just installed Koha (on Linux) and am running into an issue where I can't create items for biblio entries (when I click on the Add Item button, nothing happens). Anyone else run into this problem and have any idea how to fix it? Thanks. removing tag in edit biblio window

Hi, I have linked the 090 tag to item types. I want the field to be mandatory and not repeatable. I have left the repeatable check box unchecked. In one record I have four copies of the 090 tag. How do I remove three of them in the Edit Biblio window? How can I prevent the element from being repeated? Also, there is a drop down list of my item types and a text box displayed in 090 tag field. How can I remove the text box? Finally, when editing subfields, there is a drop down list with options, ignore followed by ten options running from zero to ten. The list is labeled 'manage in tab'. What does this list mean? Any help would be much appreciated. Could you indicate the required steps to generate the errors you talk about? (I've clicked my way through various menu's, and no errors so far..) Too many issues error

Hi, I have koha installed and am just testing things out to see if it will work for my organization. So I have added one bibliographic entry (pulled via z3950 from the LOC). And I have created one item for that bibliographic entry. I have also created one patron. I have setup issuing rules of 14,100 for everything and have defined several item types, one of which has been assigned to the bibliographic entry. When I attempt to issue the item to the patron I get a warning that says: "Please Confirm Issue: Too many issues (already issued / max : g 0 / 0)" Can anyone tell shat I have to do to get the max issues set to something more than 0 for this patron/bib? Copying MARC_Subfield_Structure

I have v.2.2.4Koha on windows. I would like to make a copy of the MARC subfield file under c:\usr\koha224\cgi-bin\admin\marc_subfield... since this is a pl file... how can I copy it to a disk and save it to a different computer? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
