Helow everybody, I'm Jose Alberto Albarracin, a Law Firm Librarian, at Madrid (Spain), who installed Koha 2.2.8 in our computer network to manage our library. I started to used it a few weeks ago and, I and our computer administrator found some errors that we can't solve. Please, anybody could help us? We need to find a solution a.s.a.p. Theese are our errors: First error appear in the librarian interface when tring to "Add a Biblio" by "z39.59 Search". I select my configurated servers, I clik on "Search Intenet", I get a list of available server whith a number of record, I choose the record I want to download at my Koha, and I get this error: " Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, eduardo.garcia(a)adarvecorporacion.comion and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. ---------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- Apache/2.0.52 (CentOS) Server at kohaintranet.adarve.com Port 8080" Does anyone know why this error happens? I create a new MARC framework to customize the default framework MARC21 based to standar MARC framework use in Spain: IBERMARC. At first we believed that error would be solved by run "misc/rebuildnomarc.pl" (I read in "Koha:a newbie's guide by BWS Johnson" page 11.: http://www.kohadocs.org/newbieguide.pdf) We ran it, and tried to add a new biblio and nothing changed. Well, what can we do? Anyone have had before theese errors at his/her Koha system? I have a too much stuff to catologue and I would solve as soon as posible so, any help will be very appreciative and welcome. Thank you very much. anyone know where I can get the latest ZOOM? I'm compiling from source as Ubuntu doesn't have packages for YAZ that are compatible with 2.2.9 libyaz-dev.2.1.50 or greater is required.. and installing ZOOM via CPAN is puking on over 50% of the tests run.. thanks, --Huck

Error when: buildnonmarc.pl

Hi I'm using version 2.2.9 on Ubuntu Feisty with mysql 5.0 When running buildnonmarc.pl to fix koha/marc linking I get the following error message after record the script cycles through: </collection> at /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules/C4/Biblio.pm line 597. .DBD::mysql::db do failed: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1 at ./rebuildnonmarc.pl line 98. DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Column 'biblionumber' cannot be null at /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules/C4/Biblio.pm line 1924. XML : <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <collection Should I log this under bugs/database in Bugzilla? Or is this not a bug, possible a misconfiguration? Suggestions Oddity 2.2.9

In the Opac when viewing suggestions there are 6 search conditions: -Any asked accepted ordered declined available In the Aquisitions module the librarian can only do 2 states -Reject accept Also when the a suggestion is rejected by the librarian it's simply 'blown away' and no longer on the opac suggestion list. So the person who submitted the suggestion cannot see what the response to her suggestion was....even if it was rejected it would be courteous just to have this visible. I'll be adding these to Bugzilla. Bugzilla does not have an option for assigning to 2.2.9 by the way.... Bo

i have instaled successfully koha ...but problem is somewhere koha is not accepting data ...or where it goes don't know....e.g. we have entered a branch record but it is not showing.. CAN any body tell me as a new user to koha and librarysystem both...how can we use koha? thanx

Stocktaking and inventory

Hi..it's Sandra again (KOHA 2.2.5 user)...David, Jason and Thomas...thanks for your suggestions on exporting the data..I'm sure they're all possible and would work.....but our IT have not been able to come up with the requested table :(. The data they have extracted is jumbled and incomplete. >From our 4000 biblio records we have only 1750 titles, (and actually with matching author in adjoining colomn), but without matching barcodes, classification and pricing of the almost 8000 items, they're in separate colomns elsewhere on the 1000 page excel sheet. Our IT have asked me to give step by step instructions on how to export the requested data: the data I wanted on the table is (exactly as in the email I wrote to out IT) : Information to include in library inventory Excel or Access database, Excel format is the easiest for us to use. Title: Tab 1 *245a* Author: Tab 0 *100a * or Tab1 245c Classification: Tab0 082a or Tab5 *942k* Price: from *Item Price* Barcode: Tab0 082b or Tab5 942a or from *Item Barcode* One other fields that it would be useful for you to include is: Itemtype: Tab 5 *942c* The bold type indicates the preferred source for information, many thanks in advance. Failing step-by-step instructions on how to extract this information what are the alternatives within the system for an efficient stocktaking? I've not been able to find anything about this subject in help documentation. MySQL Error on 2.2.9 Install

Someone on the list recently asked me if I had any install errors with Version 2.2.9 - ?? I hope it's allright to post it here? (Ubuntu Feisty Apache2 and MySql 5.0 server) My question would be, what does this mean. How corrupt are my database tables? Is there anything that I need to do to stabilise the system? The fines generator creates fines for an item upon the return of an item, rather then generating fines each night. That means that each item will only have one fine listed that totals the amount due, rather than a fine for each day overdue. This more closely emulates our previous ILS and our librarians preferred it. The overdues generator allows you to specify the period of 'overdueness' and allows one to create a shelf list to check for items that might have been accidentally shelved without first being returned, and also a pdf of nicely formatted notices to mail out. Both of them are written in PHP rather than Perl, and that's why I've kept them in a separate project rather than as part of the Koha repository. So it looks like the documentation is wrong and fines2.pl does work, but needs customisation. I've had a look at it and it's not pretty, there are far too many magic numbers in there. For example, there's a maximum fine variable buried in the code, set to 5. However, here in Nigeria that's far too low (there are about 130 Naira to the US Dollar). If I had the time I'd rewrite it to read things out of system preferences. Would I be right in saying that for each "fine cycle" (7 days or whatever) this will add an additional line item to the borrower's record?
