mysql5 or moremember.pl error?

Hello, I have installed koha 2.2.9 on suse linux 10.1 - apache 2.2 and mysql. things seems to be working ok except that when i try to add a member, fill the necessary data and click add the browser responds by trying to download moremember.pl. when i open this file it contains error from the server. how do i solve this. is it due to apache or mysql5? thanks for your response. perl C4 module errors

Hello, I just upgraded from 2.2.6 to 2.2.9 I seem to be having problems with running some perl modules that come with koha, the C4 modules. Here's the error I get when I run this command: sudo perl /usr/local/koha/intranet/scripts/updater/updatedatabase Can't locate C4/Context.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.7 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.7 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/local/koha/intranet/scripts/updater/updatedatabase line 23. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/local/koha/intranet/scripts/updater/updatedatabase line 23. How can I permanently add the C4 modules to the @INC variable? Is there some other solution that is better? The z39.50 search is also not working and I'm assuming that this is the problem. thanks for your time and any help you can give, Matthew

Salvete! You can in fact delete by barcode. Beware of the deaccession and the frumious bandersnatch. You will make more work for yourself if you accidentally delete something. Go to the purple Cataloguing Intranet pages. Do a search for other options Item Barcode. Plug in the item's barcode and hit enter. Click on the summary display of the item. >From this screen, there are little tabs at the top. Pick the delete tab. It should ask for confirmation. Click yes. *poof* item gone! how to delete a record?

Dear All; I am part of this support group and have asked before how can I delete a whole entry, this is, a bibliographic record. I went to the address supplied for a Koha manual, but the item "delete biblio record", had not been developed yet. So I have to bother you. We do not use yet a marc record, as we have our own classification system in a small library of about 7000 books. I need to do some deselection, and need to delete some titles, and/ or some second copies. How is this done? I have asked Chris last year if after doing this I could use that"barcode" number again. Hello guys, I attempted this weekend to download Apache, MySQL, ActivePerl, and Koha for Windows following instructions from 'Koha on Windows Documentation'. I have not had any luck. Hi Jackson, I'd really recommend you join the Koha mailing list here http://www.koha.org/community/mailing-lists.html And ask these questions there. There are librarians on the mailing list who will be very familiar with the MARC system, and what they all mean (I'm not a librarian or a cataloguer). z39.50 search working... I don't know what all funkiness actual librarians configure with Koha..so the only thing I did was add some z39.50 servers to search. I will try and figure out HOW to package it up and make it available to the masses...with some sort of an instruction sheet on login and the like... or if you have and ftp server and want me to push it up onto your server...just let me know and I can let it run overnight... contact me off-list dhuckaby(a)paasda.org Thanks, --Huck

character encoding & bulkmarcimport.pl

Hi, I'm wondering if the script bulkmarcimport.pl is simply checking for the value of leader byte 9 if your framework is set to MARC21/USMARC records and then trusting that value. If it's blank it assumes MARC-8 encoding and converts it to UTF-8 using MARC::Charset; if ldr9 is 'a' then it assumes UTF-8 and leaves it as is. Is there something else going on here? Is this a relatively safe approach with MARC21/USMARC records as a whole? Should bulkmarcimport.pl only be used on records that are known to be only MARC-8 and/or UTF-8? I'm wondering if there aren't other non-standard character encodings for MARC21 records out there. For instance, the Wellcome library [1] says it provides records in MARC21 and then says they are in ISO-8859-1 (Latin1) character set. I can imagine there are others out there. I don't know if Latin1 would be a problem, but it seems that other character encodings might be if MARC-8 is assumed to be the character encoding when it isn't. Does the built in Z39.50 search, do character set conversion to UTF-8 as well? Automatic Email sending with Koha

Hi everybody, I have a problem with my Koha server (2.2.8) on a Linux Debian. The server doesn't want to send automatic emails to the borrower. It's strange because the server can send email with the command line. The postfix configuration is OK. Have you any idea? upgrading to Koha 2.0

Hi, I've got an ancient version of koha(1.2.3) and I am having trouble upgrading this to koha 2.0 or finding any information on how to do this. Is upgrading from 1.2.3 to 2.0 similar to upgrading 2.0 to 2.2.* as in making the symlinks, etc, as described in these steps: (http://www.kohadocs.org/Updating_Koha.html#d0e285) ??? I cant find much documentation and what I've tried so far doesn't seem to work.
