Problems in Koha2.2.8 with setting system Parameter

Dear all I installed koha2.2.8 with correct virsion of prerquisite software. I am having problems in setting 1. Authorised valu Admin ,I am neither able to add value nor add category. 2.MARC tag structure admin for default MARC framework starts with 010 tag There is no details of tag available ex 000 .I am not able to view subfields. It gives Internal Server error 3.MARC Checks shows following error which I am not able to understand. Test Result OK itemnum : the field itemnumber is mapped to a field in tab -1 item fields ALL items fields MUST : be mapped to the same tag, and they must all be in the 10 (items) tab OK Only 1 MARC tag mapped to items OK biblioitems.itemtype defined OK itemtypes defined OK homebranch defined OK holdingbranch defined OK biblionumber and biblioitemnumber mapped correctly OK no NULL value in frameworkcode TOTAL You have 1 error(s) in your MARC configuration. Please fix them before using Koha Is it a bug or there is a mistake form my side. Please Help me and guide me in detail. Yours truly Mrs. S. Barcodes

OK. Is there a way to search the archives for the list? And quick question... I have successfully imported records, but when I go to add the item information, I am not allowed to enter my current barcodes. Auto-barcode seems to be stuck in the on position even though I've changed in the system preferences: catalogue tab. Other places that may be interfering? Thanx. It's accessible from the cataloguing module and doesn't take much to get working; just pick your servers and go. I'm old fashioned and tend to import manually, so if someone else wants to chime in on this, go for it. But, I would guess that if someone was looking to do a title search with z39.50, that probably wouldn't be far off. Koha spanks the crizznap outta Follett, IMHO. Cheers, Brooke

Help for a volunteer?

I am volunteering at a non-profit organisation in Wellington where I am arranging their resources in a more orderly fashion, and hopefully installing a catalogue. What I need a bit of help with is where to start, although I tend to think of myself as technically pretty good, I've realised from my reading so far that I'm somewhat out of my depth with Koha. If there is a kind soul out there, who is willing to share their wisdom from time to time, that would be wonderful! questions from prospective Koha user

Dear list, I recently became the sole librarian for a small music library in NYC (Birnbaum Music Library at the Kaufman Center). We are currently running an ancient Mac (circa 1998) running system 8.1 and an old version of school library software from Sagebrush/Winnebago, which is no longer supported by its parent company. I have to upgrade computer and software, and am thinking of switching to Koha, but had a few questions: 1. I have approval to get a new computer for the library. For my home and freelance work I usually use a Mac and prefer them in general, but obviously the budget is tight at the library and PCs are cheaper. I was told by someone at LibLime that Koha runs better on a Mac, but a 2006 document by Stephen Hedges says Macs can't run the full program. Has this been fixed since then? Is there good reason to pay more for a Mac to run Koha, or would a PC be equally good, or perhaps preferable? 2. Would it be possible to transfer our current computer catalog from Sagebrush/Winnebago to Koha without reentering every record? If so, how? I am quite new to library software in general, so no answer can be too basic for me. I did manage to export the catalog as an Excel file, but it looks awfully disorganized and I don't know whether it can be used to transfer info. 3. For Koha, would our library computer act as the server for web-based searches, or is there a remote server available? How do data backups work in Koha? Would we have an onsite backup system? 4. Patron Fines List

Hello; I am looking for a Patrons Fines Report. I am trying Kyle Hall's from KohaReports but I am having some problems with it looping through some patrons twice or placing the previous fine from a overdue returned book on a book that is not due or has not been returned. I am willing to work on it, but it would be good to have something that works now. Thanks for your assistance. We are really enjoying Koha but need a good way to print out fines due (amountoutstanding) lists for our K-12 schools. The tar told me I was missing XML::SAX, so I installed that and it works now.
