Koha Item Type 942$c, 952$y

Dear All, I am migrating my data from oracle database to KOHA. I would like to use the 942$c to store document types such as handbooks, dictionary etc (I will not create any circulation rules for these values) and 952$y for koha item type used for circulation rules. I intend to edit the MARC framework and update the authorized value of 942$c to a new created authorized value such as DTYPE. However KOHA links this field to biblioitems.itemtype. I wanted to understand how and where is this field used in KOHA functions. Will this cause any malfunctioning with respect to lending or any other functions. Multiple Check-in Boxes in One Sitting

Hello, all! Can a library set up more than one check-in box at a time? I am retroactively creating the serials module to my library's serial subscriptions. Must I enter the issues one at a time? Dear all, I converted records from excel to Marc and migrated them to Koha. However item holdings (fields 942$c, 952$a, 952$b, 952$c 952$y, 952$o-item type, current library, home library, and call number) are not shown in the catalogue. What could be the problem? Kindly assist Tom Regards

How to upgrade?

I am trying to upgrade my koha version from 20.11.11.000 to the latest updated version with this commands : $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get upgrade$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get upgrade But after I ran those commands, I saw no changes. It is still version 20.11.11.000. What am I doing wrong? Very, very beginner question: Sample MARC record

I am trying to make a trial run at cataloging, and it's turned up information that I don't know how to populate. The book I picked up is "The Bible and Holy Fathers for Orthodox", ISBNdb entry at https://isbndb.com/book/9780962253607. Most of the entries in the catalogue will be books, with some periodicals and maybe coverage of relevant websites. I clicked on the "Books..." entry under "New entry"; that gives me a form with the following fields as required: 000 ? - LEADER 005 ? - DATE AND TIME OF LATEST TRANSACTION 008 ? - FIXED-LENGTH DATA ELEMENTS--GENERAL INFORMATION 040 ? - CATALOGING SOURCE > Transcribing agency What should I be doing to fill at least these out? Does "Z39.50/SRU search" or "Link authorities automatically" provide a way to populate from existing question? Thank you for any orientation and advice. Thanks, Br. C.S.
