When I try to change a user's category in Patron Edit that the Category drop-down does not show all my categories. I have not found a system preference that changes this. Also can the types, such as Adult, Child, Staff, etc be modified or not?

Hi, All: We're a small rural public library automating for the first time with Koha/ LibLime and we're looking for advice on your favorite sources for copy cataloging. We have quite a backlog of uncataloged items to get through. Koha's default search targets for us are FirstSearch WorldCat, LOC, New York University, New York Public Library, Columbia, & the Smithsonian Institution. Trouble with the Installer in Koha 3.0

Hello, I am new to the list and to Koha. I am trying to install Koha on an Apple Intel XServe running OS X Server 10.5.4. I have successfully installed Koha on the back end, but when I go the the web based installer I get to step 3 and things break. The URL that the browser is on when it breaks is: http://<myserver>:8080/cgi-bin/koha/installer/install.pl? step=3&op=importdatastructure I have created the Database and setup the permission for the user I specified during the back end install before I even start the web installer . The page content shows: The following error occurred while importing the database structure: ERROR 1050 (42S01) at line 1939: Table 'tags_all' already exists Please contact your system administrator To step through the pages leading up to the error: step=2&checkdb=1 returns: Database settings: database type : mysql database name : koha-p-oe database host : localhost database port : 3306 (probably OK if blank) database user : kohaadmin Connection established. Database koha-p-oe exists. User kohaadmin has all required privileges on database koha-p-oe. step=3 returns: Now we're ready to create the database tables and fill them with some default data. step=3&op=importdatastructure returns: Success Database tables created step=3 returns: Now we're ready to create the database tables and fill them with some default data. This is where I break. Note that after the Success for "importdatastructure", we go back to a regular step=3 which has already been done. I check the Database in MySQL and the tables have been created (there are 116 tables total). After digging around a little bit, I have found if I set the "op=" variable in the get string to "choosemarc", the installer will continue, but I am not sure if there is something that is being missed. I presume since I am getting this error, something is wrong and I should figure out what it is before I really continue with my setup. Any input would be appreciated. Dear friends, I encountered a problem while circulation process with Koha. We use Koha 2.9 with Fedora 3. When clicking on issue button after enter barcode, a message shows as follows, “Please Confirm Issue: The patron has a debt of $5.00” I earlier implemented rent and fines. problems with the update from 2.0.0RC4 to 3.0

We have a very old koha library v1.2.3. I have updated it to v2.0.0RC4 with koha.update script and other misc scripts. It has been running without errors so far. However, I want to update it to koha 3 if possible. I tried to update it from 2.0.0RC4 to 2.2.2b. After running the scripts, I did a search catalog on librarian interface but got no records. I checked the log and found the sql statement it executed. There was a table called "marc_word" which was a empty table and this table caused the problem everytime I did the search. How can I rebuild marc_word records? I tried to run the script rebuild_marc_word but got errors saying "Uninitialized variables.....". How can I get any records into marc_word table and make the search return results? I am using koha 2.0.0RC4 on debian with MySQL 4.0. It has been taking me quite a while to do the update. I really don't what to do next. Is there any way to update koha from 2.0 to 3.0 directly? Numeric range searches

I'm wondering if there's a way to do numeric range searches in Koha 3.0 (apart from the ability to search for date ranges in the catalog). The 521 tag, for example, can be used to assign lexiles, reading grade levels, interest age levels, and so on. Ideally, the OPAC should allow a user to identify suitable materials for a child by retrieving items within a range of lexiles, e.g., 420 - 500, and/ or range of reading grade levels, e.g, K-2.
