Hello, My library is planning an inventory in about a month, and I was glad to see that Koha has an easy-to-use inventory tool. However, when I tried to generate a shelflist, the call numbers are not in order. They are ordered the way a computer would do it but not the way LC works. (i.e., The call numbers were BF1028, BF1029, BF103. The computer put them in this order by looking at the B, then the F, then the 1, etc. LC would order them BF103, BF1028, BF1029, looking at the numbers as one hundred three and one thousand twenty-eight.) Obviously, we can't use the inventory tool if the numbers are ordered this way. I was wondering if there are any plans to fix this, since it seems more like a bug-fix than an enhancement. Thanks. Generate barcodes

I am trying to generate barcodes from Koha (Using Generate Barcodes Link at Koha Admin ->Barcode Generator->generate Barcodes). Hi, we are very happy to announce Koha3.0.2 Stable has been released on http://download.koha.org/ Its name is koha-3.00.02.tar.gz You can download file and signatures You can check the integrity of the package; either by verifying the provided GPG signature (.sig) or by comparing the MD5 checksum: c3fee4abbb29c88f97a5f7db5fe9eebf koha-3.00.02.tar.gz I have also tagged this in Git as "version 3.00.02 final" v3.00.02-final You can download. An extract of release notes is pasted below This release is bugfix only release, and doesnot include new features which would require some database changes. It does add some databases changes though but only to FIX bugs. The next release scheduled in July will include features which are now in master but not ported yet to stable because of database change required. That is to say mainly many content enhancement were not integrated Librarything, Syndetics, Baker&Taylor, Babeltheque, and BranchTransferLimits. But we are willing to make them into the next release which will come out as soon as possible in July. Salvete! I'm going to ask this again, because I feel the questions are important, in especial given our current situation in terms of planning. Were alternatives to Trademark discussed such as Collective Mark or Certification Mark? Were non profit stewards considered? (While I know it is the intent for the marks to switch hands when there are users' groups functioning, is this intent in writing?) What would the conditions be for use of the mark by a non holder? Deleting imported data between MARC imports

I'm using MarcEdit to edit my MARC data prior to import into Koha in order to get items to import correctly. Unfortunately, I tried importing all 221,000 bibs (231,000 items) into my test server. After indexing 150,000 records, zebra quit due to lack of disc space. I'm using a very old server with only 16 GB of space. When I try to revert the import, the process never completes. Is there a command line process for cleaning up imported data in Koha 3.0.1? It's on Debian Etch. I noticed the -d option in bulkmarkimport.pl, but I've been using the web-based import and would like to continue to do so. I tried running this script with only the -d option, which, as expected, did nothing. Any ideas? User profiles ?

Dear all, Does Koha have some notion of user group ? What is meant here by group is the ability to express that a user belongs to one or several groups, and then writing templates or script that behave differently according to which groups the user belongs to. The notion of group is not the one of category, because a user can, as far as I know, belong to only one user category. Many thanks in advance for any hint ! Sébastien.

problem searching records

Koha 3.00.01 Problem is that when I enter data, the system does not recognise the data until I run the 'fast indexing for search records' command. Then it is no problem, the data comes up wherever I want it, catalogue, barcode generation etc. It seems as if the system is not remembering that the command has been run. I need to be able ot run it once and forget about it!!! Seeking support for Koha: upgrading from version 2.9 to the current stable reslease

Hi folks; Addis Ababa University Library System has been using the Koha ILS for the past five years. We started using Koha from the the early version 2.22. Then it was upgraded to 2.24. Recently it has been upgraded to version 2.29. Now we would like to upgrade to the current stable version - version 3.0.1. The catalog (http://libcat.aau.edu.et) contains more than 200,000 biblios and above 350,000 items. Recently, we have tried to upgrade it the current stable version and faced some difficulties. Dear All, We are currently evaluating Koha in our organization, and also soon will be implementing a fedora-repository commons repository where we may use MODS http://www.loc.gov/standards/mods/ for storing bibliographic data.
