Confusion over filtering search results by "current location" of an item

Hello, Please can anyone explain to me the role of the "Current Location" of an item in filterng results from searching the catalog (using the staf interface). The behaviour we are seeing is that items with no "Current Location" set DO NOT SHOW UP if you filter the seach results based on "Holding Library". On the other hand, if you use the "Advanced Search" and select a specific library, items with no "Current Location" DO show up. Also, when/how does the "Current Location" get set and how do you edit it? (The screen for editing items lets us change the "Permanent Location" but there is no column for "Current Location".) Any advice much appreciated. Let me know if you want me to explain this better! We are using Koha 19.11. Chris Brown (Voluntary Libraries in Sheffield)

touch_all_biblios.pl oAuth Failure

Hello all, Koha 22.11 Having an odd error with both touch_allbiblios.pl and touch_all_items.pl getting these messages for both: Failed to load Koha::Plugin::Com::ByWaterSolutions::LabelMaker: Could not find or check module 'Koha::Plugin::Com::ByWaterSolutions::LabelMaker' at /usr/share/koha/lib/Koha/Plugins.pm line 124. Failed to load Koha::Plugin::RuleHardDueDate: Could not find or check module 'Koha::Plugin::RuleHardDueDate' at /usr/share/koha/lib/Koha/Plugins.pm line 124. as well as this error in biblios repeating endlessly: oAuth error: Unsupported Use attribute (114) thesaurus-conventions Bib-1 Not sure what is happening but I haven't had those plugins for a long time. Turning off plugins in the koha-conf file removes those two errors but oAuth error still an issue. Kind Regards -- Christina

Two January CatSIGs!

Hi, all! Guess what? There will be more Cataloging fun in January 2023! Yes—there will be two Koha-US Cataloging Special Interest Group ("CatSIG") meetings! Our regular one, the first Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 8 PT, 9 MT, 10 CT, 11 ET (16:00 UTC) and another one on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 1(13:00)PT / 4(16:00)ET /9NZT / 20UTC! And since you don't have to be a member of Koha-US to join us, we're hoping the different times will make it possible for more folks to join in! This second meeting will be the first of additional, quarterly CatSIGs during the US's afternoons, as an experiment to see if more folks would like to join us at that time. And remember that you don't even need to self-identify as a cataloger! There will be our usual roundtable of questions, solutions and resource brainstorming, tips, tricks, suggestions, bug & development awareness, and the usual laughter, fun, and fellowship to discuss anything cataloging, authority, or metadata related in Koha. Template toolkit puzzle 2.

Finding a solution to puzzle 1 would be great, but the solution would not be perfect as I cannot alter the subject line of the ODUE notice. My ideal solution would be not to send the ODUE notice to leavers at all, and instead send a separate notice to them using the patron emailer. So I need TT code / a rule to prevent a notice that *should* go out from being sent. [% IF (borrower.dateexpiry !== CURDATE() %] <standard ODUE notice is sent using a subject line appropriate for current students> [% ELSE %] <no email is sent, to the leaver, and my LEAVERS_FIRST notice is sent via the crontab using the patron emailer> [% END %] I am working to significantly improve messages to students and being able to use TT code / rules to **prevent** a standard Koha notice going out would be great, but I have no idea how I can do this. Hi :) To be forwarded to librarians, system librarians, educators, devs, sysadmins and other people that could be interested in contributing to Koha. Let's meet Friday the 2nd at any moment in the following timeframe: 13h-20h UTC&UK / 8h-15h US East / 5h-12h US West The place is https://visio.chapril.org/koha (the text chat can be opened with the 4th button at the bottom: 🗨️) Reminder of the modalities: The idea is to test patches to contribute to Koha. The biggest bottleneck for having more bugs fixes and enhancements is patch testing. Thus this call for getting together as Koha users. No need for particular skills, just basic Koha usage. You can come an leave at any moment, even for a short time it's possible to get simple stuff moving forward. We will use a VoIP call with chat tool to speak and eventually screenshare. It's possible to join without sound and only use chat. So if you are at the front desk and there are not much patrons you can still test patches ^^ So, whichever communication mode is the most convenient for you. No need to have a local Koha instance. Just with a web browser we can use the sandboxes [1] to have temporary Kohas to test most patches and do whatever we want without bad consequences.
