Where are SMTP errors logged?

I defined an SMTP server for one of my koha libraries, but it is failing to send messages. Another library (on the same server) is working OK with the same SMTP server settings, as far as I can see. I have set the Debug mode to "enabled" on the SMTP server settings. Can you tell me where the debug output goes? We are using koha 22.11 Thanks! Chris Brown

searching problem

Dear David, List, In our database on (2 koha servers) we have 268 bibliographic records! With the versions 25.05.05 and lower search by item type (in this database we have 3 item types - journals, newspapers, yearbooks) is working in the perfect way. All records are being retrieved in the normal way, indexes are produced again in the correct way. With the version 25.05.06 (didn't have a connection with 653) we are experiencing a problem. Searching by all 3 item types, or searching by the "journals + newspapers" is failed! The message is "No results found! You did not specify any search criteria. Return to the last advanced search Error: Can't call method "raw" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Search.pm line 785" But when we are searching only by journals, or only by newspapers, or only by yearbooks, or (newspapers + yearbooks) or (journals + yearbooks) the result is OK. More, all searches by the fields which try to go through the whole database (lets say by the content of the filed 003) are being failed with the above mentioned error code. Because of that we are thinking that this is a version bug! Number of bibliographic entries for journals is = 137 Number of bibliographic entries for newspapers is = 128 Number of bibliographic entries for yearbooks is = 3 Thanks in advance

A question about disabling email

Gentle Reader, If I disable email on my koha instance, (using koha-email-disable), does it just stop the message queue from being processed, or does it also stop the system from placing "overdue" notices into the queue? We're running Koha 22.11 Thanks in advance for any replies. Chris Brown

Dear List, Anke Thanks for help. of course we rebuild zebra index. when we searched by "Item type" in Advanced search and chose all (we have 3: periodical, newspaper & yearbook it brought such error: ---- "No results found! You did not specify any search criteria. Return to the last advanced search Error: Can't call method "raw" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Search.pm line 785" --- BUT when we chose 2 of them or 1 all is ok Any suggestions? Sometimes it is easy to get around procedure. Well, STOP IT! Seriously though, you're in a hurry, and you want to help patrons quickly, and quality sometimes takes a backseat. It is easy to take the simpler route if the opportunity presents itself, and with patron renewals, that can happen, especially when you have procedures that require you to quality check patron information with custom validation or adding some unique information at the time of renewal. Hackfest in Marseille, registrations open !

Hello all, I'm happy to invite the Koha community for the "hackfest in Marseille", that will take place from March 23 to March 27 (included) During this week, we'll work on our beloved ILS : developing, but also sharing experience, testing, translating, documenting. The hackfest will take place in BibLibre office + a room and the terrace in the Jesuit convent, just on the other side of the street (thanks to them for renting it to us once again), 25 rue Fauchier, 13002 Marseille. The event is free of charge, just drop me an email if you want to register ! If you plan to join us but can't come for the whole week, it's OK. Joining for at least 2 full days is a minimum though, otherwise you'll be lost in our "beehive activity" Happy to welcome you once again in our great city. Dear List, we have a database with 268 bibliographic records, containing descriptions for newspapers, journals and yearbooks. For the Koha version: 21.11.05.000, in the "Advanced Search" mode in the "Search for" fields, selecting the "Subject" field as a - newspaper; - then using Boolean operator "OR" adding the second "Subject" field as a "Journal" - then using Boolean operator "OR" adding the third "Subject" field as a "Yearbook" the system is returning all 268 bibl. records. After upgrading to the Koha version: 25.05.06.000, and repeating the same search, the system is returning: No results found!" You did not specify any search criteria. Priority/place in queue of unsuspended hold?

Hello Colleagues who utilize Aspen Discovery, One of our libs just asked me whether or not Aspen puts a patron's hold back in the same priority/place in queue after the patron or staff unfreezes/thaws that hold. In other words, if I freeze a hold when I am 7th in queue for a title, when I thaw that hold, will my hold still be 7th in queue for that title? The Aspen documentation did not specify the priority/in what place in queue the thawed/unsuspended hold would be. When I asked the Aspen Community, they indicated that it depends on the ILS used by Aspen. We are running Koha v. 25.05 with Maria DB. reset admin password

How do I reset Koha's admin password so I can log into the Web-based administrative interface? An embarrassingly long time ago, ran some command that seemed to wipe out a whole lot Koha's preferences. Since then I have not been able to log into the Web-based administrative interface on port 8080. How to I create a username/password combination so I can use the administrative backend again? -- Eric Morgan Infomotions, LLC
