How to limit number of copies?

Hello, In Koha it is possible to Add an instance or choose to "Add Multiple Copies" simultaneously to a record. So far so good. More..... I had a situation where an employee mistakenly typed 800,000 copies for a record. As a result, when Koha started its automatic Indexing routine, it consumed all of the server's memory and crashed system access. When I tried to delete the 800,000 copies in batch, the system crashed. It took slow deletion from 5,000 to 5,000 to reach 800,000. Considering the aforementioned case, would any colleague know if we can limit the quantity in the option "Add Multiple Copies"? Thanks, Victor

Problem in zebra indexing

Hello, In version 21.05.21 koha-rebuild-zebra -v -f biblio How can we solve this problem in zebra indexing? "Skipping rebuild/upgrade because herd failed on /var/lock/koha/biblio/rebuild/re build..LCK: Resource temporarily unavailable"

Cannot import records: Failed to connect: Error connecting to localhost:61613

Hi, after upgrading a Debian (Ubuntu) installation to version 22.11.03.000 Rosalie , I fail to import any new Marc record into the database. My worker-output.log reports: Failed to connect: Error connecting to localhost:61613: Connection refused at /usr/share/perl5/Net/Stomp.pm line 27.; giving up at /usr/share/perl5/Net/Stomp.pm line 26. I believe this strange behavior can be traced back to Bug 26742: https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=26742 As suggested there, I did manually include the lines: <message_broker> <hostname>localhost</hostname> <port>61613</port> <username>guest</username> <password>guest</password> <vhost></vhost> </message_broker> (which weren't present, despite all previous upgrades) into my etc/koha-conf.xml file, and restarted everything. Publication charges: APCs, BPCs and all that

Besides our current migration to Koha I am also involved in a project on handling Article Processing Charges (https://www.opencost.de/en/) There it would be interesting to us to learn more how other libraries do it. So, if by chance you do handle publication charges (both closed as well as open access charges; it's a common myth that only OA publishers charge fees...) or someone in your institution does, it would be helpful for our project to learn about it. Local covers and the Coverflow plugin

Hello again, I'm trying to find a way to have local covers show in the Coverflow plugin on the OPAC page for titles not added via Z39.50. I had originally set it up using the first example in the configuration (items added in the last 30 days), but going back I see there's another example for adding additional columns. Since it said, "you can add an additional column" I thought I was supposed to paste it below the already existing code. That... ended up with an error yeah :) So I replaced it and ran the report but could not get a local cover. What am I doing wrong this time? I uploaded the cover in the holdings area. Is there another location I should do it instead? I checked old posts on the mailing list, but could not find any solutions for this. I would also like to work out a way to show covers of our collections (e.g. CS textbooks, ECON textbooks, donated books etc.) but for that I need to figure out lists?? I'm on Koha 23.05.00 and Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS. Best regards Aida Đikić

For the moment, I make do with changing the values of the input buttons in the html code, as described by Andrii Nugged in the bug report, because my coworker doesn't understand enough English to work with an English language interface. Importing records into Koha - smaller batches per year of catalogization?

Hello all, (my messages don't seem to be visible on the mailing list, only replies to them are) I have finally received the export from our developers; they have provided me with an .xls file which I'll need to prepare for MarcEdit (check for errors and consistency such as uniform names of publishers, authors, duplicate or skipped inventory numbers etc.). There's a total of 9326 copies, so I was wondering if the best way to import the records would be to break up the file into several smaller ones, separated by the year in which they were cataloged? I could sort them by inventory number; the format we used for them is B0001/20## for books. I currently have the barcode in Koha set to <year>-0001 format (though I'm wondering whether it's better to use the EAN barcode format. Are there any preferences re: barcodes here in the list? Finally, when it comes to the mapping of the fields we had in our system and what's available in Koha, our fields were the following: In-house catalog Example title Title Preservation and restoration of tooth structure / edited by Graham J.
