Hi Everyone, I hear what you are all saying about this and agree that it would be better to roll our own, but here is the thing: Hea is not user friendly at all and the Wiki is not a good marketing tool because it is not pretty (no offense on either of these). If you really want to market Koha you need to look at these things from the eyes of a non-developer, non-tech oriented librarian. If you do that you will see that these two tools are not optimal, especially in comparison to something that larger companies that Koha competes with are going to put out. It is good to hear that you want to clean things up and re-invent the wheel, but actually doing that in a reasonable amount of time in a competitive environment is another thing. If someone has a concrete proposal for an attractive, sortable, searchable, easy to submit to option on the website for libraries to put information in than I think that would be great and I will do everything to help that I can, but who is going to do it and when? With products like Folio coming Koha needs to be front and center in the open source library world and showing the world how many people use it is a no brainer (and should be easy) in terms of ways to do just that. So the options are that someone volunteers to create this interface (ByWater staff can help with this if given the access and permission, but we aren’t going to do it alone) with a completion target of end of Feb. 2017, or we link out to a third party site that already has the content. If we don’t hear from anyone about the former we are going to go with the latter. We need to move on this kind of stuff soon or Koha will be left in the dust in the coming emergence of open source in the library world. We need to become more accessible to those who don’t code, otherwise we are playing into the misconception that open source is for developers only. Respectfully, -Nate > Nathan A. Hi, I'd really like to see Hea improved, and link to that instead. It is our own, open, data. It is fully voluntary. We can make the registration process easier for libraries - possibly as part of the installer. It is too hidden now. An API to Hea that I could pull from to use the data on the website would be a nice thing, but not a requirement. I'm happy to simply link to it. We have this tool, we should encourage more strongly the use of it, instead of depending on a third party with non-open data. ------ Great! What is the plan and timeline for this? Liz, are you willing to head this up? I would be more than happy to help on the design front. Who is going to be the main tech lead on this project? Also, no one has commented on the issue of the non-tech element in this. As I said before, if you want libraries to actually use this it needs to look nice, be easy to access, and be sortable and searchable. The whole point of doing this page is so libraries who are looking to use Koha can find institutions that are similar to their own. I have posted info on Hea through the gitlab thing and it is not easy to use for the average Joe.

Not able to send email alerts

Dear Friends We are using koha for our library (version 16.11) on ubuntu 14.04 I am using postfix for sending email alerts to our user previously it was work very well but now the email alerts not able to send. I have check all settings but not able to solve the query The notices showing pending status in patron detail Kindly check the Screenshot -- Sahadeo D. Koha training and certification

Hello all, I am looking for information regarding Koha training and certification, if there's any. Any information regarding institutions or organizations providing these services is welcome. The training and certification I'm looking for is both at a technical level (Perl programming, Koha command line utilities, Zebra indexing and configuration, database schema, etc) as well as at a user level (How to perform an advanced search, how to catalog, using the circulation module, using the acquisitions module, system preferences and so on and so forth). Question about serials management module

Hello, I would like to know whether we can use serials module to manage the same journal's title of more than one libraries in a Koha single system? Currently, I start to work on migrating journals data from a local library system to Koha. There are two faculties in a university subscribing the same jourmals titles and they both want to manage their own subsciption. Does Koha Support this case? Please kindly suggest.
