Need help with Koha Email Notices Issue

Dear All, I am using Koha version 22.11.00 and have set up Exim4 on port 25 to send email notices. Additionally, I have configured Cron for sending automatic reminders. This setup was functioning perfectly; however, since last week, reminders such as Advance Due, Item Due, and Overdue emails are not being sent. These notices are marked as pending in the Patron page of the Koha intranet. In contrast, emails like the ACCTDETAILS for creation of new patron and PASSWORD_RESET for Forgot password from OPAC are being sent successfully. The Koha intranet system logs indicate that the cron jobs (overdue_notices.pl, advance_notices.pl, and holds_reminder.pl) are running fine, but it appears that process_message_queue.pl is not executing. As a result, all notices remain pending and are not being delivered to users. => I attempted to run process_message_queue.pl manually from the Koha shell and encountered the following error: library-koha@koha:/usr/share/koha/bin/cronjobs$ ./process_message_queue.pl Can't use string ("Skipping execution of ./process_"...) as a HASH ref while "strict refs" in use at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Log.pm line 135. => Additionally, when running the following from the Koha shell, I received similar errors: perl -d process_message_queue.pl DB<1> c C4::Letters::SendQueuedMessages Can't use string ("Skipping execution of process_me"...) as a HASH ref while "strict refs" in use at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Log.pm line 135. at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Log.pm line 135. Confusion between 099 and 942 field in UNIMARC and comparison with MARC21

Hi I believe there is something wrong in UNIMARC default framework (https://github.com/Koha-Community/Koha/blob/main/installer/data/mysql/en/ma… ) We have 2 fields for "local" data (specific to Koha) at biblio level : 099 and 942 And the same pieces of information are present in subfields of both fields : - 099$x and 942$0 (Number of issues => biblioitems.totalissues) - 099$s and 942$s (Serial record => biblio.serial) - 099$t and 942$c (Koha item type => biblioitems.itemtype) I suppose it is an error, because it makes no sense... And note that the 099 field in UNIMARC framework is called "local dates", so it should not contain information about item type or number of issue. Do you think we could remove safely from the default templates 099$x, 099$s, 099$t ? I don't know if those values may be harcoded somewhere in the code. Moreover, it could be interesting to reduce the discrepancy between MARC21 and UNIMARC, so I wondered if we could get rid of 099 in UNIMARC. So I searched for the equivalent of 099$c (Koha biblio creation date => biblio.datecreated) and 099$d ( Koha biblio modification date => biblio.timestamp) in MARC21, but I was surprised to find no place in 942 or elsewere to store those pieces of information. Koha Community Update: Foundation Steering Group Progress 1 November 2024 Dear Koha Community, We’re pleased to share updates from the recent Foundation Steering Group meetings that we have had since the Steering Group was formed at Kohacon in Montréal. These sessions have focused on building a transparent governance structure for Koha’s future within the Open Library Foundation (OLF), aligning with both our values and the community’s democratically driven spirit. Below, we outline some key topics discussed, with the intention that the wider Koha community can stay informed and engaged in this process of moving towards joining the OLF. Commitment to Community-Driven Representation We understand the importance of having representatives on this Steering Group, and also on the eventual Governance Committee, that reflect the diverse perspectives of the Koha community. All of us are dedicated to ensuring that those who volunteer to represent Koha in the Foundation remain aligned with the community’s values and the open-source mission that guides our work together. Inclusive Governance Structure As part of our work with the OLF, we are establishing key roles — which include the legally necessary roles of Manager, Treasurer, and Secretary — required to help Koha operate within a solid framework. Our aim is to ensure that active, meaningful participation from the community remains central to governance decisions and membership guidelines. Financial Oversight and Independence Each entity within the OLF, such as Koha, is fully accountable for its own finances and activities as what is called a ‘Single Member Limited Liability Company’ (SMLLC). The OLF provides support, but each SMLLC operates independently. To help with banking and financial management, we are considering practical solutions, such as appointing a U.S.-based Treasurer to simplify banking processes. Improved Community Communication and Transparency We are drafting guidelines to ensure clear communication about who represents the community, how decisions are made, and when input from the community is necessary. Our goal is to make sure that every voice is heard and that our governance structure reflects the collective will of the community. Protecting Koha’s Charitable Mission We are dedicated to preserving Koha’s charitable status, aligning our activities and tax considerations with both legal standards and community values. Next Steps and Community Engagement We are pleased to be welcoming some additional members to the Steering Group who work in Libraries in different parts of the world. This is to address the current imbalance of the Steering Group in favour of Koha Support Companies. Our next meeting will focus on finalising the Steering Group’s guidelines and defining roles that will be needed in the Koha Foundation Committee. We encourage everyone who is passionate about Koha to join us in these discussions by giving us your feedback, as we build a robust foundation for the project’s future. batch items modification: itemnumber contains space

Hi, I would like to use the batch items modification tool to a list of items, whose itemnumbers contain a space (e.g. 01 1234). The tool treats the two parts of the itemnumber as a distinct number (i.e. 01 and 1234), therefore no item is found. I tried enclosing the itemnumbers in inverted commas, and to escape the space, as well as several kinds of regex expressions for the space, but it does not work. Any hint? (All my itemnumbers are actually constructed in that way!) Many thanks, Giuseppe.

Community positions for 25.05 cycle

Hi everyone, It's that time again, we're coming up to release time for 24.11 and that means picking the team for the 25.05 cycle! Please see the roles page at https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Roles_for_25.05 and add your name to a role if you would like to propose volunteering for it. The team vote will take place on November 13th at the next community general meeting. We'd love to see some new faces on the team, and it's just as important to have non-developers helping to guide the ship as it is the developers. Some roles I'd like to draw your attention to: * Bug Wranglers <https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Project_roles#Bug_wrangler> - We can always do with more bug wranglers! These people love to keep things tidy and Bugzilla is always in need of your help. We need people to help manage 'the list', identify the duplicates, promote bugs to specialists and find people to do signoffs and testing. Everyone is invited to this party, we need you! This is a great first-time role to take on and it makes a real difference to active community contributors' lives! * Documentation Team <https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Project_roles#Documentation_team> - The documentation team is a growing team that's made great inroads into bringing Koha's documentation up to date and ensuring we have a well-documented piece of software. There's plenty more to do and they're always on the lookout for new contributors. It would be really helpful to have someone to help promote those meetings, keep them on track and work on the minutes. Right now these meetings tend to be run, recorded, minuted and promoted all by the team managers and that's a difficult task. We'd really like some help here, please. * Accessibility advocate <https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Project_roles#Accessibility_advocate> - In Koha, we really want to be open and accessible to all but accessibility is an area that many of us are not as aware of as we should be. We'd like to have some people helping to promote best practices and report accessibility issues we might not be aware of. There are lots of other roles and I'm more than happy to try and mentor anyone interested in taking any of them on. If it's not something I've personally taken on in the past, I'm confident I can find the right person to help you out. Personal push: I'd love to see some more people on the QA team, we need help there as it's often a blocking point in our queues. There's lots of small QA work that people could use to get up to speed so do please feel free to offer your assistance and I'm happy to mentor. Looking forward to seeing some new names on the list and your active engagement. I encountered an error in the OPAC when clicking the RSS button on the search results page ( http://14.139.228.28/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?advsearch=1&weight_search=… ) to "Subscribe to this search" (RSS Feed URL). http://14.139.228.28/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?&limit=mc-itype%2Cphr%3ABK… The error message displayed is as follows: " This page contains the following errors: error on line 1 at column 374: EntityRef: expecting ';' Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.
