I used apt-get rather than apt: apt-get update apt-get upgrade apt-get install koha-common That is what worked for me on Debian 9. It may be superstition but I do not trust apt without the get! Import the MARC21 with Item details

Hello everyone, I have marc21 file with more than 20K records, I would need to import in the Koha with the barcode, I have updated the Marc21 file with MarcExit tool and added items with 952, but still it doesn't reflect in the Koha catalog. When tried to use circulation it says invalid. So please let me know how can I import marc21 file with barcode data. Staff Collection in Koha

Just curious as to how other libraries set up staff only collections. I suspect that I am overthinking this. We'd like to create a collection for librarian-led programs, Eg., movie night, program kits ...etc. Such that: - Hidden in OPAC via OPACHiddenItems - Easily searchable by staff - Non-floating - No reserves or checkouts allowed except to staff I see 2 - 3 possibilities: - Item Type - Location or branch "Staff Collection" - Some combination of the 2 (?) I'm not a fan of using item type as it complicates the role and meaning ( taxonomic ) of item type for material classification so I'm leaning towards creating a branch and assigning rules to this branch. Shelving location does not offer the same flexibility, correct? I don't see a way to set rules by shelving location. That would be ideal as this collection is housed at an existing branch. New Google Group for Koha and EDS users

Hello Koha folks, Our library implemented EBSCO Discovery Service three years ago. In that time I have learned that implementation is an ongoing, perennial process. I find that I still have new questions and new frustrations as I work to integrate EDS with Koha in a way that works for our users and meets all their research and access needs. It occurs to me that I am not alone in this quest and there are others of you out there. We might be struggling with the same or similar issues. We might have thoughts and ideas about how the EDS API plugin for Koha might be improved. We might be able to help one another when things go awry. To this end, I've created a Google Group: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/kohaeds-user-group It is a public group for anyone to read. Members of the group may post, and anyone can join. I've set up a simple open-ended question for folks to answer in order to join so that we can cut down on spam. fines keeps increasing for check in items

Hello, pls i have this strange question that i need an answer to. A patron that borrowed book and Accruing fine keeps increasing despite the return of the book and when I check the account of the Patron most of this added value to the amount after the return of the item(s) is/are always with either FU and some with F under the account type. What can be responsible and what can be done. I am using Koha 3.22.04.000 on Debian 8.2Thanks

Help with funding the koha-community.org webserver

Hi all, I've been funding the koha-community web server for about 5 years now, and I've been happy to have the disposable income available to me to do that personally. As it turns out, this year I don't really have that and I could really use some help paying for it. The server is paid for yearly, this year it was $308 NZD It's all paid up until June of next year. If you'd be interested in tossing a few dollars my way to support running the website, I'd be really grateful. I think it would be better to have a community funded server anyway. I'm happy to keep looking after the server and website too. I don't have a plan currently for how best to receive the funds - ideas welcome on this front as well. Variables in reports

Hi, All -- We have a report with the following WHERE clause: WHERE b.biblionumber IN (SELECT biblionumber FROM items WHERE DATE_SUB(CURDATE(),INTERVAL 30 DAY) <= dateaccessioned AND homebranch='KIMBALL') AND b.biblionumber IN (SELECT biblionumber FROM items WHERE DATE_SUB(CURDATE(),INTERVAL 30 DAY) <= dateaccessioned AND homebranch='PLAISTOW') AND b.biblionumber IN (SELECT biblionumber FROM items WHERE DATE_SUB(CURDATE(),INTERVAL 30 DAY) <= dateaccessioned AND homebranch='SANDOWN') Is there a way to declare & assign variables within a standard report? I'm familiar w/ the section in the Reports wiki on runtime parameters & variables (https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/SQL_Reports_Library#Runtime_Parameters) I've also played around w/ SET statements. But no luck finding a way to avoid repeating the date calculation three times without getting errors. As an aside, here's another approach to finding items owned by all 3 branches: WHERE DATE_SUB(CURDATE(),INTERVAL 30 DAY) <= i.dateaccessioned AND i.homebranch IN ('kimball','plaistow','sandown') GROUP BY biblionumber HAVING count(DISTINCT homebranch) = 3 Thanks in advance for any guidance. Koha - notices and slips: how to include total amount outstanding on a notice

Dear Fellow Koha Users, I was wondering if anyone has managed to figure out how to include the total amount outstanding in a notice. In our case we do not charge fines, but once an item is subjected to the 'longoverdue.pl' process the replacement cost of the item is added to the patrons' accounts. We want to include the total amount in the notice re same, in addition to the replacement cost,[which we have in the notice] but can't seem to find the right table/column to include.
