Using Koha on Android devices for revision

I am trying to fidn out how to process a complete audit of the whole library without moving all those items from shelves to the desk and back or buying laptops just for this purpose. We are obligated to do this every second or fifth year here in Czech Republic, and it is quite an operation - we have 10 "big" (20-80k) and 100 small (2-6k of volumes) local libraries. As of now, smoothest solution I see in Android tablets/phablets/phones + dedicated readers (we have USB versions, but I am thinking about buying some Bluetooth variations). Any experience or recommendation in this field? Some brands I should avoid? My fast take on this: - Android has no problem with an input using USB barcode scanners (via USB-C or MicroUSB to UBC-A reduction) - Instead of numbers I get !#@$#$&^%$^%# => probably just need to find proper codepage for our Honeywell Eclipse MS5145 LS USB and Android with Czech layout. - Without new api or some plugin in koha itself for using camera and implementing OCR of barcode from picture, using built-in hw is no go. - Anyone has some recommendations for a suitable product (light and durable BT barcode reader)? Spine label printing

I have recently purchased a Dymo LabelWriter 450 Turbo to print spine labels individually rather than in batches. I have set SpineLabelAutoPrint to 'do' and set SpineLabelFormat to <span style="font-size:13px; line-height: 90%"><itemcallnumber></span> This was following advice I received from a list member. When I click on the link to print spine label next to an item the print dialogue box comes up and displays the Dymo label writer at the top but nothing is displayed in the print preview – just the little blue dots going round in a circle – and if I click on print nothing happens. If I change the printer name to Epson which is my main printer the label is displayed in the print preview and I can print it. Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong? Search facility in Koha I have tried to search koha catalogues using ACC.No. But it didnot work. In Koha catalogue can we use Inventory Number or Acc.No of a book as a search key factor (may be normal search or advanced search key factor except title, author, bar code number. isbn no etc.. LDAP Authentication change required for some Active Directory users

*If your Koha site uses LDAP to authenticate via Microsoft Active Directory, and that connection is unencrypted over port 389, next month's Windows Updates due on March 10 will break your site.* See here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4520412/2020-ldap-channel-binding-… In summary, the update will automatically turn on "Channel Binding" for the Active Directory service. Put another way, it will bind the ldap service to only listen via the TLS channel. Standard (unencrypted) connection attempts over port 389 will be rejected. This will prevent users from being able to log in. If this sounds like your site, there are three options to avoid unexpected down time: 1. Decline this update (via InTune, SCCM, WSUS, or other patch management tool). Not ideal. 2. Turn channel binding off again after installing the update. Also not ideal. 3. Update your connection to use LDAP+S over port 636. We should probably all be doing this anyway. No physical items for this record

Hi All, I have just upgraded Koha from 16.05 to 18.11. To do the that, I did the following procedure: Installed koha 18.11 on ubuntu 16.04 fresh, imported the data from 16.05, did schema upgrade and rebuilt the index. When I search the catalogue, I do get results with list of available items in the location column. But, when I click on an individual item, the Holdings tab in the Bibliographic screen shows "No physical items for this record". However, the items show up when I click on the Edit item button and I can edit an item, make changes and I have no problem saving it. These changes are not reflected in the Holdings tab which remain empty. I wonder what could be causing this - "No physical items for this record"? and how can I rectify that. Many thanks, Bruck T. Field 952$o is blank

Dear all, We have imported 26,000 books from resourcemate into koha 19.05.04 but we have 082$a is filled but 952 $o is blank where it should have picked up the data from 082$a automatically but it didn't. As a result I have to add/ edit 952$o field manually for 26,000 books. is there any way to get the 082$a field into 952$o automatically without any marcedit. As the 26,000 books file was prepared by someone else and that person is no longer working with us and I am not at all good in marc edit. Please help me ASAP In Christ, Nalisha
