Koha in France

Club de la Doua will be hosting a workshop about "Open Source Software in Libraries" at enssib (the French National School for librarians - www.enssib.fr) in Lyon, France on the 18th of April. Three speakers will come to share their vision about free softwares in this field: 9:00AM Nicolas Morin, from Nancy University Libraries, will talk about the actual uses and further perspectives of using free softwares in the library from a library manager's point of view. 9:45AM Paul Poulain, Koha 2.0 release manager, will describe the working pattern of a particular open source project, and make a demo of the open source ILS Koha 11:15 Olivier Walbecq, from Archimed company, will talk about open source at Archimed's et, in particular, the "Oscar community" and OpenURL servers. Using Library of Congress Call number

I would like to use the Library of Congress call numbers, as all the books in my library are already labeled with this. How can I change the preferences to use this instead of the Dewey system when I import MARC records. Thanks, Stephen Durham

Architectural, design, engineering and construction libraries

Kia ora I am wondering if there is anyone on the list from an architectural, design, engineering or construction library. Or for that matter, any small special library with very specialised field and functionality requirements. I would be interested to hear from you, and any thoughts you may have on the potential for Koha in a specials environment. I've had a quick look and it looks good. What is useful is having item formats in the system parameters module which isn't available in version 1.2.3, I'd like to know how other users get round this. Changing Member Card Number?

Hi all: I'm testing koha version 1.2.3 for our library at the ISPJAE university in Cuba. I'm interested to know how I can change the default card number's value that koha assigns to a new member by the card number that the members already have. I need this because all students, professors and workers here have their own card number valid for all the campus. Best regards... Ing. Koha 1.9.2 just arrived at sourceforge. Let's try it and add new bugs at bugs.koha.org. RELEASE NOTES ============= * koha does NOT work with MARC::Record 1.12. It works fine with MARC::Record 0.93, and maybe with other versions. * In the MARC search, the "not" flag does not work : the result of the query is very strange ! * en and fr are the only languages well supported in this version.
