Kent - you can use MarcEdit to convert tagged MARC files to the proper format for entry into Koha using bulkmarcimport. Hi all, I've got a (hopefully) quick and easy question for you all, that is somewhat urgent for us. We were planning on doing an import of 1000 records to our Koha installation today. However, when we attempted to use the script in the subject we got the following, XX => # at ./bulkauthimport.pl line 113 We used this syntax: ./bulkauthimport.pl -file /path/to/file.mrc any ideas? Now I'm blushing! I'd advise cautioun on two accounts here: - MacOS has changed since the system I wrote about - ditto for Koha Playing with MacOS's unix underbelly requires a good deal of caution - and don't do anything you can't back out of unless you're prepared to reinstall the whole system, or are happy to live with whatever state the machine gets itself into ;-) Feel free to e-mail me direct if you need more help. I can always use distraction from my sea ice, and will see what I can dredge up. One final word: Once you have your apache settings working, back them up somewhere easy to find. MacOS system upgrades sometimes run riot over all your nice, clever apache configs. rrrr... cheers Adam. installing Koha on OS X

Are there any step by step instructions out there for installing Koha on OS X? I'm having trouble locating clear instructions and can't get it to install. I'd really like to test it out for running a very small library but am a novice on the installation of this kind of system. I've got Perl, Apache and MySql all installed and think I've worked out how to get the installer going, but it's telling me it can't locate Install.pm in @INC. Any help would be appreciated. Hey Koha Crowd... I'm hoping this list has a few people with MARC cataloging expertise - as in how (if at all) the subject and other data would be massaged/enhanced, etc before you'd like it in your catalogs - who would be willing to be pestered a bit. Apologies if that's cryptic, the full explanation is a bit longish. I'm in need of someone to ask some questions about preferences, etc regarding using our Favorite Format for records interchange. It is for a potentially nifty thing to make using all the data provided by other libraries easier, and has (maybe) some potential as a add-on to systems like Koha eventually. I've experienced identical symptoms to the ones you're describing and haven't found a solution yet. I suspect that the problem may lie with the CVS version of the client since Chris reported that a default 2.2.3 Z39.50 client was working with no config changes. So here's something to try: download Koha 2.2.3, grab the z39.50 client stuff and see if it runs with your CVS Koha version (you are running a CVS version of Koha right?). I haven't had a spare moment this week to give this a shot ... let me know if it works for you. Finally Joshua, Z3950 is giving results I think i was fighting the wrong problem. The problem seems to be that i skipped adding the "stopwords" option while installation. See http://lists.katipo.co.nz/pipermail/koha/2005/004255.html (which is your own posting !!) I'm not using a CVS checkout, but the tarball from sourceforge. And dear Steven, I've added only the NL database at amicus. So it works fine from the southern tip of India. :-) Thanks to all your tips.
