Do a federated search in OPAC

Hello, Is there a way of making a fererated search in OPAC , or making the same federated search using an CMS like joomla or wordpress ? I have 10 koha libraries, each with its own instance and diferente server and database. I Need to implement something that searches all the kohas and merge the results in one place. Potential dangers of ampersands in authorised values. (Advisory only).

The ampersand can be rendered badly in webpages (as & rather than &) and also in title data in downloaded Koha reports. But we recently stumbled across another ampersand issue, where we had an ampersand in the NOT_LOAN authorised value. In OPAC, titles with the NOT_LOAN status with the ampersand (for example 'In processing at Resources & Systems') would sometimes display with only the image, and no bibliographic data. This was found to lead to errors in the logs reporting the xslt stylesheets were unable to process the ampersand. [2021/12/29 09:53:15] [WARN] XSLT::Base: :167: parser error : xmlParseEntityRef: no name code><status>reallynotforloan</status><substatus>Received at Library Resources & . Replacing & with 'and' solved the problem. Going forward we will avoid ampersands in authorised values where a webserver may be involved. problem with new feature - write protecting MARC fields

Hi. I am trying the new feature that protects MARC fields from overwriting. It works for me with the module "user category", but I cannot get it to work with the "source" module. I would like to protect the 856 field from overwriting during a Z39.50 import. Is this a bug? Thank you Isabel Pineda

Upgrade to 21.11 - problems with extensions (coverflow and Koha as a CMS)

Hi. I know that the extensions are not strictly a part of Koha, but maybe someone can help me with this: I am using the Coverflow plugin and the additional "pages" template to use Koha as a CMS. These things worked for me in previous Koha versions but stopped working after the upgrade to 21.11: - The Coverflow is not showing (only the "loading ..." text is there). - The content of the custom pages is not showing. - There is no error message in the web console. - The opac-error.log shows me a repeated error about the use of an uninitialized value in the file /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/XSLT.pm, but I don't know if this error has something to do with my problem. What I did after the upgrade: - For Coverflow: I updated the Coverflow plugin to the latest version (2.5.0). - For Koha as a CMS: I overwrote the old file pages.pl with a copy of the new file opac-main.pl and followed the instructions for this file at https://koha-community.org/manual/21.11/en/html/extending_koha.html#using-k… - For Koha as a CMS: I overwrote the old file pages.tt with a copy of the new file opac-main.tt and tried to follow the instructions for this file at https://koha-community.org/manual/21.11/en/html/extending_koha.html#using-k…, but the line that has to be modified has changed, so here I don't know how to do it. But at least the content of my custom pages ought to appear without changing the template, I think that something must be wrong in the file pages.pl. Is there anybody who is using these extensions and can help me? Thank you very much. Isabel Pineda

Barcodes are not generating automatically anymore after upgrade to 21.11

Hi. Today I updated our Koha installation to version 21.11, and now in the Cataloguing the automatical creation of the barcode is not working anymore. We use the barcode type <branchcode>yymm0001 Is this a bug? Or has something gone wrong with the upgrade? Thank you very much Isabel Pineda

software error while batch editing records

Hi I tried to batch edit 10000 records in a demo instance by appying a modification template The job is stuck, and this page gave me a sofware error : /cgi-bin/koha/admin/background_jobs.pl?op=view&id=2 Software error: Template process failed: undef error - unexpected end of string while parsing JSON string, at character offset 65535 (before "(end of string)") at .../Koha/BackgroundJob.pm line 182. I suspect this is a bug... Is it yet reported ? Is Koha supposed to be able to batch edit thousands of records? -- Mathieu Saby

Issue with "Additional contents (HTML customizations)"

Hi We are working on a completely new host with Debian GNU/Linux 11 and Koha 21.11.00. I have also tested this on my demo installation with Koha 21.11.00 - same problem. We found the following issue with menu "Tools > Additional contents (HTML customizations)". When adding a new entry (e. g. for display location "OpacMainUserBlock") we are able to add e. g. text "ABC" and then save. The OPAC will show "ABC" as expected". It is also possible to delete this entry in the menu. But the OPAC will still show the original text "ABC", even after emptying the browser cache (Ctrl+F5) or restarting memcached, apache2 and koha-common. But even more, if we add another entry e. g. with text "XYZ" the OPAC will now show "ABC" and then "XYZ" on another line. After deleting the entry in the menu the OPAC will still show both texts, "ABC" and "XYZ". Can anyone please confirm this issue? But especially: How can we get rid of the unwanted old texts? Upload files in cataloguing

Hi all I would like to upload a file and make it visible through the 856$u field. I followed the instructions on http://kohageek.blogspot.com/2015/12/attaching-files-to-catalog-records.html The plugin appears and I can upload the file. But when I select the Choose (or Auswählen) buttom nothing happens. The same with the Download and the "Löschen" buttom. If I click on koha_upload I'm able to download (and maybe delete - I haven't checked) the file. What is wrong? Thank you Beda
