When I run perl installer.pl I get this message. Do I have to do anything about this? PERL MODULES Checking perl modules ... Subroutine PDF::API2::Resource::Font::Postscript::O_RDONLY redefined at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/Exporter.pm line 65. at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/PDF/API2/Resource/Font/Postscript.pm line 46 It also tells me I have to install gd::barcode but it is already installed.

Hello Koha Lover, The win32 install you ran includes a set of sample data so you can evaluate koha and decide if you want to try it with your own data. So no, it is not a mistake; it was done for a reason. If you were going to use only english to enter your data, it is possible to delete the existing sample data and import your own data using a bulkmarcimport script which has a purge option. Or a blank data set is also included in the install, but many of the configuration settings need to be made before you can use it. However, since you are interested in using koha with Modern Greek, I am almost certain that you should not use the sample data sets that are included with win32 install package. I don't know much about using languages other than english, but I do know that the included data sets were not created to use unicode (UTF-8?) encoding and so I am almost certain that you will need to create a new set of blank data using unicode before you can use the greek character set. This may sound difficult, but there is script that you can run to do it. I just found this page on the koha wiki that may help you: http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=encodingscratchpad. Note that this page says: "MySQL <http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=mysql> Version 4.1 is absolute minimum if you want to handle encoding correctly" and "You must create your Koha database _after_ you set the character set defaults otherwise the database could be set to the wrong defaults" I have not set up encoding like this before, so I don't know how much I can help you. If I get some free time, I will try to test it. I will copy the list on this response, and perhaps some other members can offer some suggestions for configuring koha to use a non-english character set. For the Z3950 queries, I think a dial-up should work, but of course it may not be fast. If you can browse the internet from the computer, you should be able to do a Z3950 query. Of course you will need to activate the dial-up connection before you do any queries. I hope this helps. I have testing koha 2.2X on a linux server and the z39.50 client retrieve the records with no errors. All special characters, accents are correct. It's a Widnows XP/Language problem? problème de francisation d'interface

Bonjour Je suis sous debian etch avec apache 1.3 et mysql 4.1 J'accède à koha 2.2.7 sans problème mais l'interface est désespérément en anglais. Normalement koha bénéficie de la traduction de son interface en Français et Anglais et de la possiblilité de choisir l'une ou l'autre des deux langues. Si quelqu'un à des solutions à ce problème. Merci

I have just installed KOHA and I am stuck on Z39.50 searches. I get the following message: Server error! The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Error message: Premature end of script headers: search.pl If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster. Error 500 intranet 01/23/07 15:40:11 Apache/2.0.59 (Win32) Any advice? When use the Z39.50 to retrieve records (in spanish language) from LC, the results are displayed wrong. The special characters like accents, etc. don't show like expect. I'm considering setting up a Koha database. I already have a Linux based "business pro" account with www.1and1.co.uk. Relevant features of "business pro" 1and1 plan: - PHP 3, 4 & 5 - Perl - 8x MySQL (100 MB per database) - Shell access via SSH Should Koha run properly in this environment? classification and MARC links

Hi, I'm trying to set up MARC links and MARC structure. Before making changes to what the defaults are, I'm trying to see how those defaults would meet our needs. We do not have a pre-existing database so have some flexibility. I will be using call numbers like the following on my spine labels. Since we have a small collection, many times we will not be using any numbers after the decimal or only a few in areas where our collection is strongest, so we use the first 3 letters of the main entry at the end of the call number (usually authors last name, sometimes title main entry). REF 023 .3 RON The defaults in Koha are: biblioitems.classification 942j Location (call number prefix code) biblioitems.dewey 942k Classification base (DDC to decimal or LCC letter class padded after single lett biblioitems.subclass 942l Classification subclass (DDC after decimal or LCC number after letters items.itemcallnumber 952k Call number (combined) To test results I put the following in these fields in one record of a Liblime demo record. 942j prefix 942k dewey 942l subclass 952k combined Here are the results as they show in the catalog: http://opac.liblime.com/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?bib=26305 Why does "prefix" come after "dewey"? One reason I'm looking at this is that, I'm trying to get the newer barcode generator using Gaylord 8511 labels working for us using the kind of call number we use. In this example if I check Dewey / Call Number, Classification, Item Call Number, and Sub-Class here's the result for the spine label: dewey sub combined Does anyone have a suggestion on how we should be entering our call numbers into the system to have it look correct in both the OPAC and on the spine labels?
