by Nahuel ANGELINETTI 22 May '10

22 May '10

Ok, Today is the day I will be shifting all the mailing-lists from lists.koha.org to lists.koha-community.org. I plan to start the shift in 1 hour (10am UTC+1). It would help immensely if no one used lists.koha.org after that time, and I will email when lists.koha-community.org is up and ready to go. -- Nahuel ANGELINETTI

I have not done an upgrade to 3.06 yet but have done quite a few 3.02 to 3.05 and it was a piece of cake. And then the path to koha install log, what is this path exactly? by Lola McKee 21 May '10

21 May '10

I am interested in how LLEK users are using the Lost Items tab on the patrons account. Once the Lost Items are paid for are they deleting the item to remove it from the patrons record or leaving it for future information to see any patterns? -- Thanks, Lola McKee Tech Systems Specialist Salina Public Library 785-825-4624 Ext. 239

Setting up federated search
by Olugbenga Adara 20 May '10

20 May '10

Hello all, I am making a research into how to setup federated search. This will be to search separate instances of koha installed on separate servers. Here in Nigeria Internet access is not very reliable and so the option of having several libraries on same server is not attractive as the other branches will be fully down when the Internet access is down. But on separate servers, each branch can work and then search other branches if Internet access is available. I have come across dbwiz, pazpar2 and also OAI. However I dont fully understand how to set up any of these. Specifically I would be grateful if i could get help/pointers/documentation/walk through on 1. How to enable public z39.50 server on koha install 2. The best (and easy?) method for federated search out of those above or any additional one 3. How to set up the system(s) It would also be nice if the federated search could include online databases like JSTOR etc. By the way i am using Koha 3.05 on ubuntu 9.10 Thanks so much to everyone who has made this a great list! Greetings! This is a call for participation in a survey about technical support for your Integrated Library System. This survey is part of a research project, funded by IMLS, comparing the technical support of Open Source Integrated Libary Systems with technical support of proprietary Integrated Library Systems. If you participated in that survey Thank you very much for your participation. We really appreciate the informative, quick and large number of responses we got!!! Now, we invite you to participate in the second survey which is assessing the effectiveness of your current ILS technical support. We will then compare this current status to the expectations to idenify any gaps or accolades! If you are willing to participate in this study and fill the survey, please follow the link below http://oss-research.cci.utk.edu/survey If you know of anyone who would be interested in the study or taking the survey please direct them to this site where they can fill the public survey.
