Failed 2/21 test scripts. 7/189 subtests failed during KOHA installation

Hi, I'v being trying to install Koha for several days and keep on getting failed. I have follwed the exact instructions on INSTALL file (for debian-lenny). Since it says somewhere in this forum that perl 5.10 is now working fine with koha-3 I kept it as it is. Used dselect to install necessary modules and the rest through cpan. 'make test' shows the following errors in 7 subsets. need help ========================================================================== localhost:/home/koha/Desktop/koha-3.00.03# make test PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 KOHA_CONF=blib/KOHA_CONF_DIR/koha-conf.xml /usr/bin/perl "-MExtUtils::Command::MM" "-e" "test_harness(0, 'blib/PERL_MODULE_DIR', 'blib/arch')" t/*.t t/Amazon.......................ok t/Barcodes_PrinterConfig.......ok t/Bookfund.....................ok t/Bookseller...................ok t/Boolean......................ok t/Branch.......................ok t/Calendar.....................ok t/Charset......................ok t/Circulation_barcodedecode....NOK 1/16 # Failed test 'use C4::Circulation;' # at t/Circulation_barcodedecode.t line 10. # Tried to use 'C4::Circulation'. # Error: DBD driver has not implemented the AutoCommit attribute at /usr/lib/perl5/DBI.pm line 690. # Compilation failed in require at /home/koha/Desktop/koha-3.00.03/blib/PERL_MODULE_DIR/C4/Circulation.pm line 25. # BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /home/koha/Desktop/koha-3.00.03/blib/PERL_MODULE_DIR/C4/Circulation.pm line 25. # Compilation failed in require at (eval 4) line 2. # BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at (eval 4) line 2. Inventory/Stocktaking Koha 3.0
by Marie Wardall 06 Jun '10

06 Jun '10

It's the end of the year and we are attempting inventory again. Just want to find out if anyone has used the inventory module in Koha 3.0. We've scanned our whole collection and are not sure if what we are doing is the right thing. In Inventory/Stocktaking we are uploading our barcode file and then setting the last date seen to today's date. The results that show up are the number of items modified : datelastseen set to 06/04/2010 (today's date) Some barcodes show up as well with the message barcode not found. I guess our biggest question is how do we know if we scanned everything or if something is missing? Are we missing a step? We would like to be able to get a list of items that were not scanned that includes title, call number and barcode so we can go look for them. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Koha Barcode symbology
by deavorj＠comcast.net 04 Jun '10

04 Jun '10

I am at a small private school in the United States. We are just getting started with Koha, and we are hoping to do lots of data entry this summer. I am aware that Koha will generate barcodes for you. However, we have had printer challenges at my school. Plus, I want sturdy barcodes. I found a discount vendor who will supply us with barcodes. http://www.budgetlibrarysupplies.com/index_files/Barcode.htm I have decided that getting laminated or polyester barcodes printed in bulk would be easier and faster than us trying to generate thousands of plain paper barcodes. Also, I am anxious to get as much data entry done as possible now that school will be out for the summer. My question is what kind of symbology does Koha support? I've been given options from the vendor like Code 39 or Codabar. Could you please advise what type of symbology I need to order? Thanks so much, Janet Deavor

[KohaCon10] Reminder: June 15 is the Deadline for submitting presentation proposals
by Russel Garlick 03 Jun '10

03 Jun '10

Hi all, Just a reminder that the deadline for submitting a presentation proposal for KohaCon10 is midnight June 15th NZST (Tuesday, 15 June 2010 at midday UTC). The programme is filling up nicely and we have some great talks lined up. But there are still some spaces available and we would love to hear from you. We'd especially love to hear from librarians who have Koha stories, tips and tricks and other knowledge they would like to share. > https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dGJjUWtHMTE2X0J0Vm5ENXlaSn… Cheers, -- Russel Garlick Catalyst IT Ltd. for the KohaCon10 Organising Committee
