Configure gmail with postfix to send notices from Koha
by Vimal Kumar V. 15 Sep '12

15 Sep '12

Dear Friends, I was searching for a documentation to configure gmail with Koha to send notices. I tried many documentations and none worked. This time I got a simple documentation, which describes how to configure gmail with postfix mail server. I tried the solution and it worked well. Here is the link, http://eureka.ykyuen.info/2011/02/05/postfix-relay-via-gmail/#comment-10597 Regards, -- Vimal Kumar V. Not quite so easy to replace and not really reasonable to use surgery as a fix for bad web design :-P Not aesthetics police - I really didn't see it. Thanks for adding one. No other problems AFAICS. Need to suppress the Can't call method "subfield" error
by legster 14 Sep '12

14 Sep '12

I am running Koha(3.06.01) on a closed network, with no chance of updating to the latest version. Everything works fine except we get the Can't call method "subfield" error when chicking in or out and a few other times. I have the debug level set to none, but we still get the same error. Just like others have posted, everything still works fine except the error displays. Otherwise, it does the check in and out just fine. Is there an easy way to suppress that error and stop it from showing up? Thanks in advance! -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Need-to-suppress-the-Can-t-call-method-su… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Re: [Koha] Language confusion on the Circ & Fine Rules
by Steve Campbell 14 Sep '12

> >> Default checkout, hold and return policy for all libraries >> gets changed to >> Default checkout, hold and return policy >> I would move this table to the top of the page and somehow require some >> value in the "allowed" box. > > I'm confused by this one. Is this required? I don't have it filled in > in my test system and it doesn't block me from circulation or holds. > > -- Owen > > -- > Web Developer > Athens County Public Libraries > http://www.myacpl.org Hi, Owen, I can totally relate to your confusion. In coming up with my suggestions, I made some assumptions about how the whole mechanism works. I could be wrong. The only way to be sure is to read the code, and I'm not up to that. In general I think systems should set defaults first and subsequently set specific parameters. The "Default checkout, hold and return policy" box is setting defaults for at least some of the parameters. That's why I suggested moving it to the top of the page. As for requiring a default setting, the last thing a system should allow is a situation where there is no specific setting and no default for a parameter. It looked to me like this would be possible if the "Total current checkouts allowed" value was not filled in in this box. Maybe there's a safety net in the mechanism that I missed. Koha OPAC Customizations
by J Powell 13 Sep '12

13 Sep '12

Can someone point me or share with us a good guide of how to modify some of the html pages within the OPAC to replace the logs, and some other text presentation elements? I'm hoping that the frame work is contained in a number of HTML template shells and CSS files. That would make modifications much easier Thanks
