Global Bug Squashing Day (Bugs only edition) - GBSD, May 10th, 2017
by Nick Clemens 28 Apr '17

28 Apr '17

Hi All, At the last Koha Developers Meeting it was proposed to hold a special 'Bugs Only' Squashing Day in order to clean up things before the 17.05 release. We are hoping to get some new sign-offers, librarians, and developers involved in the process and make 17.05 the new hotness. There is a developers meeting that day as well, so there should be plenty of us available to help. We want your questions, we want to help! If you have always wanted to get involved now is a good time, so spin up a devbox, try out a sandbox, or just visit us in IRC and ask everything you wanted to know about Koha and we will help as best as we can I will follow with more info next week but wanted to at least get the date out before the weekend. -Nick (kidclamp)

Migrating old serials data from excel to Koha 16.11
by Krishna K 26 Apr '17

26 Apr '17

Hi all, We recently migrated "Books" from home grown s/w via excel to Koha. Now we want to try the same for serials(periodicals). Would appreciate any inputs from the Koha community towards the same. We have 3 types of serials 1. Serials for which our subscription is active and we are currently receiving issues at fixed frequency - here we are interested in tracking missing issues and all the features available in Serials module of Koha 2. Same as above - but we have older issues dated even 5 years back - here we are not interested in tracking missing issues etc, but we want them to be in catalog 3. Serials which we dont subscribe to any more but want to catalog older issues Would the migration approach be different for these 3 scenarios ? How do we go about it ? -- Regards, Krishna
