bulkmarcimport.pl AND -match= fails when trying to import (bibliographic) records

Hello there! This is my first message to the list, nice to meet you all. I am a Systems Librarian at FCEN, Universidad de Buenos Aires. This is the thing: I am trying to import some bibliographic records into KOHA with BULKMARCIMPORT.PL I first imported the records with bulkmarcimport.pl perl /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/bulkmarcimport.pl -biblios -v -fk -all -commit 1000 -file=/home/nrucks/20recs.mrc (file /home/nrucks/20recs.mrc contains 20 marc bibliographic records) So far so good, everything is OK, I can see the 20 new records reflected on the website, on MYSQL database and in zebra indexes (rebuilt with koha-rebuild-zebra). Then I made some modifications to the original 20 records and tried to import then again with BULKMARCIMPORT.PL , only this time using the -match= option, because I don't want to ADD records, but REPLACE them with corrections. Field 035 of each record contains and keeps a unique identifier like the following: 035 $a (Ag-BiblioFCEN)000000002 perl /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/bulkmarcimport.pl -biblios -v -fk -all -commit 1000 -file=/home/nrucks/20recs-modified.mrc -match=035 (file /home/nrucks/20recs-modified.mrc has 20 marc bibliographic records, slightly modified from 20recs.mrc ) But this always fails... I get this for each of the 20 records: << .Use of uninitialized value $recorddata in pattern match (m//) at /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/bulkmarcimport.pl line 582, <GEN46> line 1. unable to search the database for duplicates : No query entered at /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/bulkmarcimport.pl line 290, <GEN46> line 1. >> I tried some variants like -match=035a, with same results. Note that the marc records are OK: I did try the same through the website, and worked fine: records were correctly REPLACED. http://.../cgi-bin/koha/tools/stage-marc-import.pl http://.../cgi-bin/koha/tools/manage-marc-import.pl <select name="overlay_action" id="overlay_action"> <option value="replace" selected="selected">Reemplace un registro existente con uno nuevo</option> But I plan to do this on a larger scale, and anyway, bulkmarcimport.pl should work. Any recommendations as to the syntax of -match option? , or conditions of zebra index? Or options to use another field (-i ISBN will not do since many of our books do not have it)? Or even some kind of hardcode workaround to BULKMARCIMPORT.PL (meaning "use THIS FIELD to check if record already exists"), or any other things I am obviously not taking into account? OPAC Search: No result found!

Hi, i am using koha 17.11.02 installed on ubuntu 16.04 and MariaDB 10.0.33. when searching the content of my OPAC it displays "No result found! " . and from the koha about page i noticed this error "zebra server seems not to be available. is it started?" then i entered this command sudo koha-rebuild-zebra -v -f library. it was ok. but after a while same error displayed when searching OPAC. what can i do to correct this permanently? SYSTEM UNDER MAINTENANCE NO MATTER WHAT?

I have installed KOHA from a LIVE-DVD. I have run koha-rebuild-zebra -v -f library. On the server my collection can be queried. But when longing in remotely, using my local network, or an outside connection, I get the message the system is down for maintenance. I am at a loss as to what to do next? Report for holds count by bib record & branch

Hi, All -- I'm trying to create a report that will give me hold counts broken down by bib record and the patron's branch. I believe what I have is pretty close, but some of the output omits the item type information. This is what I have: SELECT count(borrowers.branchcode) AS Holds, borrowers.branchcode, biblio.title, biblio.biblionumber, biblio.datecreated, items.itype FROM reserves LEFT JOIN borrowers USING (borrowernumber) LEFT JOIN biblio USING (biblionumber) LEFT JOIN items USING (itemnumber) GROUP BY biblio.biblionumber, borrowers.branchcode ORDER BY count(borrowers.branchcode) DESC, biblio.title And some sample output: Holdsbranchcodetitlebiblionumberdatecreateditype 6 KIMBALL Lilac girls : 142069 2016-04-19 BOOK 6 KIMBALL The woman in the window : 158162 2018-01-03 NEWBOOK 6 KIMBALL Victoria. (please answer to the list) Koha 17.11.03 is indeed the latest version. "Koha 4" is not the community version. Can't delete line from "circulation and fine rules"

Greetings! This is my first posting to this list, so let my introduce myself: I work at Bibliotek Mellansjö (Libraries between the lakes - sounds very weird in English, doesn't it?), a consortium of eight public libraries in Sweden, and we migrated to Koha in the middle of january this year. Before that I have been working as systems librarian in both public and academic libraries for eleven years, most of the time with SirsiDynix Symphony - and I have a wishlist with at least a dozen of features from that system I would like to see introduced in Koha...... But, my problem today is more adjacent: Somehow we made some error when we set up our circulation and fine rules in Koha - so we have some lines in our circulation and fine rules that doesn't contain an item type. Yes, I know, that should not be possible, and I don't know how we made it! There seems to be no way to modify nor remove those unwanted lines from inside the staff "client", so how can I get rid of them? Hy 2 all I wanted to test the "new" koha release by package install on debian jessie and stumbled on this: The following packages have unmet dependencies: koha-common : Depends: libplack-middleware-reverseproxy-perl but it is not going to be installed Depends: libtest-exception-perl but it is not going to be installed Depends: libtest-mockobject-perl but it is not going to be installed Depends: starman but it is not going to be installed any ideas ? Still unable to get KOHA 17.11 working

I have now loaded KOHA on ubuntu 16.04 from the command line. I am loading KOHA 17.11 release following the instruction from Koha on ubuntu - packages - Koha Wiki | | | | | | | | | | | Koha on ubuntu - packages - Koha Wiki | | | | I am working from a windows computer and accessing the server on my local network. The network is located on 192.168.0.6. It responds correctly, and I am performing the setup using Putty from the Windows machine. I am unable to get the lynx to work correctly, when going to 192.168.0.6:80 the screen displays the site is in the maintenance mode. the 192.168.0.6:8080 displays the Apache test screen. I am at a total loss as to the next process that I should try. I have tried to restore my existing library, but have had no luck with that either. I am using Mariadb as the database. I have successfully used KOHA in the past with creating KOHA for the first time using a KOHA Live CD and then did an update keeping my existing data. All help will be appreciated. Thanks Jack

synchro two instances of Koha

Hi, is it possible to synchronize two (online) instances of Koha? I mean, two identical installations, updated regularly, residing on two different machines, where patrons and administrators can access and modify entries independently. Would it possible to synchronize their databases (and perhaps some relevant external file), on the basis of the modification timestamp of those entries that have been actually modified? (I am not sure whether my question is simply equivalent to that of synchronizing two mysql databases on different servers, for which there might be an answer, if I google it correctly: your advice is appreciated.) Hi folks, Beginners question. Why does my Marc records import to Koha freeze when I click 'Stage for Import'.
