Community positions for 25.05 cycle

Hi everyone, It's that time again, we're coming up to release time for 24.11 and that means picking the team for the 25.05 cycle! Please see the roles page at https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Roles_for_25.05 and add your name to a role if you would like to propose volunteering for it. The team vote will take place on November 13th at the next community general meeting. We'd love to see some new faces on the team, and it's just as important to have non-developers helping to guide the ship as it is the developers. Some roles I'd like to draw your attention to: * Bug Wranglers <https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Project_roles#Bug_wrangler> - We can always do with more bug wranglers! These people love to keep things tidy and Bugzilla is always in need of your help. We need people to help manage 'the list', identify the duplicates, promote bugs to specialists and find people to do signoffs and testing. Everyone is invited to this party, we need you! This is a great first-time role to take on and it makes a real difference to active community contributors' lives! * Documentation Team <https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Project_roles#Documentation_team> - The documentation team is a growing team that's made great inroads into bringing Koha's documentation up to date and ensuring we have a well-documented piece of software. There's plenty more to do and they're always on the lookout for new contributors. The documentation team are a super-friendly group and would love to see you join them; Aude is happy to have a chat <https://chat.koha-community.org/> should you want to talk about the role before applying. * Wiki Curators <https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Project_roles#Wiki_team> - Koha's wiki is bursting at the seams with good information, but we need your help to bring order to the chaos and keep improving the content. If you've got an interest in maintaining an area of the Wiki, helping identify out-of-date information or categorizing data then this is a job for you. * Meeting facilitators <https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Project_roles#Meeting_facilitators> - We have regular meetings in the community to discuss development progress, documentation tasks and general community needs. It would be really helpful to have someone to help promote those meetings, keep them on track and work on the minutes. Right now these meetings tend to be run, recorded, minuted and promoted all by the team managers and that's a difficult task. We'd really like some help here, please. * Accessibility advocate <https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Project_roles#Accessibility_advocate> - In Koha, we really want to be open and accessible to all but accessibility is an area that many of us are not as aware of as we should be. We'd like to have some people helping to promote best practices and report accessibility issues we might not be aware of. There are lots of other roles and I'm more than happy to try and mentor anyone interested in taking any of them on. If it's not something I've personally taken on in the past, I'm confident I can find the right person to help you out. Personal push: I'd love to see some more people on the QA team, we need help there as it's often a blocking point in our queues. There's lots of small QA work that people could use to get up to speed so do please feel free to offer your assistance and I'm happy to mentor. Error in RSS Feed on Koha OPAC Search Results

Dear Koha Community Members, I am currently using Koha version 24.05.04.000 (Koha About Page). I encountered an error in the OPAC when clicking the RSS button on the search results page ( http://14.139.228.28/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?advsearch=1&weight_search=… ) to "Subscribe to this search" (RSS Feed URL). http://14.139.228.28/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?&limit=mc-itype%2Cphr%3ABK… The error message displayed is as follows: " This page contains the following errors: error on line 1 at column 374: EntityRef: expecting ';' Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error. After upgrade 24.05.04 - No holds allowed or pull list - staff interface

Hello, Upgraded from 24.05.02 to 24.05.04 and now having issues with holds. Patrons can place holds on the public interface but holds are not appearing in "holds to pull", on further investigation when searching on the staff interface all records, regardless of item type or availability, have "No holds allowed" in the right corner where the edit options are. Holds cannot be placed anywhere on the staff interface, I've double checked circ rules, item types and system preferences and can't see a glaring problem. Running a report shows holds have been placed and holds are found when checking in items and can be fulfilled and emails are sent. Any insights? Thank you -- Christina

Z39.50 MARC preview not loading

Dear Colleagues, My site is running Koha version 24.05.03.000 on a Debian 4.19.304-1 server at ByWater Solutions with MySQL version 10.6.18-MariaDB-log and Zebra version 2.0.59. When I use Koha's z39.50 interface and then attempt to preview either the MARC or card views of the records that are listed on the search results screen, the preview never loads (see screenshot that is linked to below). Have any of you run into this issue before? How did you resolve it? The z39.50 target I am search is OCLC Firstsearch. Hello, this is a now know bug in Koha and occurs with every language. I´m using Debian 11, but Debian 12 has this too. There is a quick fix to solve the problem until a new patch is issued: (all as root) apt install node-po2json edit /usr/share/koha/misc/translator/LangInstaller.pm and change in line 56 $self->(po2json) = "yarn run po2json"; with hardcoded (on Debian 11) $self->(po2json) = "/usr/bin/node-po2json"; or (if Debian 12) $self->(po2json) "/usr/share/nodejs/po2json/bin/po2json"; For more information, please read the articles at koha-mattermost town square. ERROR: an error was found when updating 'de-DE' translations. Please manually run 'koha-translate --update de-DE'. Run man koha-translate for more options. ...
