Cant Check in an item

I have just installed Koha 18.11. I checked out a book and while trying to check in the same item, the system prompted me the following: "the item has not been checked in due to a configuration issue in your system. You must ask an administrator to take a look at the about page and search for the data problems section". I need your help with this issue please. Thanks Luisa

Marc and Marcxml bilbioitems fields

Using the schema.koha-community.org site, I can see back in 16.05 the biblioitems table had fields for both *marc *and *marcxml *data. In 16.11 the *marc* field was removed, and only *marcxml *remained. In 17.05 and later, both fields are gone. Did these fields move somewhere else, or were they just deleted? We have some data (OCLC number) we'd like to use in a report, and we believe this data was only in the marc or marcxml field. There may be a place for the OCLC number in the database, but if so we believe we have mapped it improperly. We'd like to be able to get a report to export these numbers for our holdings. Hello, I have a really dumb question: what is meant by an "on-shelf hold"? I take it to mean placing a hold on a book that is actually in the library rather than checked out to a patron. Is that right? Chris Brown

Call number splitting issues

Hello, Can anyone point me in the right direction for how to report a couple call number splitting issues for possible fix in a future release? We use LC classification, and the splitting problems I experience are mostly with children's literature call numbers that have two letters in a row as part of the cutter. For example: PZ 7.1 .P6213 St 2018 is split like this in Koha's pdf label maker: PZ 7.1 .P6213 S T2018 The other issue I encounter is with the more rare call numbers that incorporate a military regiment number. Here's an example: E 492.94 1st .H53 1982 is split like this in Koha's pdf label maker: E 492.94 1 .S T H53 1982 I've found some similar reports in Bugzilla, but they are linked to a case (10821) <https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=10821> that seems to have been fixed in 2014 (as far as I can tell - I'm pretty new so I'm not sure I'm reading the bug histories correctly). I'd appreciate any guidance on how to best add this to the ongoing discussion for call number split issues! Thanks! Duplicating system preference

We are using a support company to host our Koha instance, however, our IT department has set up a VM for us to use as a test system. I would like to ask our support company to provide a dump of all our sys pref and then we need to import them into our new test instance. What is the best way to accomplish this? Ed -- *Ed Veal*

new item for ebook in Acquisitions

Hi, I usually link "items" for an ebook record to my (only) Kindle reader, also present as a record, using the 773 MARC field for the host item entry in the record for the ebook, and a corresponding 774 MARC field in the constituent unit entry in the record for the kindle. This automatically generates an "item" in the ebook record, which actually points so the (only available) Kindle reader. But now, if I want to enter a new ebook in the Acquisition module, this is actually displayed as a "new" and separate item in the ebook record (not pointing to the Kindle reader's record). How can I solve this inconsistency? (I wouldn't mind acting directing on the database via mysql commands, as this issue happens quite rarely.) Many thanks and best regards, Giuseppe.
