PC Reservations interaction with Koha

Hello, everyone: First time to post. We just signed a contract for Koha hosting and support and will be migrating mid-September. Currently we are on Sirsi Symphony and use Envisionware's PC Reservations for public computer access control. Does anyone here use PC Reservations with Koha? I would like to know if PC Res can use the patron attribute Internet setting to allow/block access to our public computer lab. Currently we have separate user profiles (what Koha calls categories) for people with Internet permissions and for those who do not. Would love to streamline to fewer types of patrons by using attributes. What else do you use them to control or are they simply an informational field for statistical reports? Thank you. When does .latest get switched

Just curious if there is a specific amount of time between a release and when that release becomes the ".latest" version of the software. I have some automation behind my builds and wanted to get the 20.11.04 version. But it is not yet cut over as the 20.11.latest version. Is that an oversight or is there a certain amount of time between a release and a version becoming the .latest version? Shibboleth-only authentication

We are testing Koha 20.11.04 and are interested in the new Shibboleth-only authentication feature. I have set "staffShibOnly" to "Don't allow staff to login by means other than shibboleth." If I have already logged in to another Shibboleth site, when I visit the Koha staff client, I'm automatically logged in without getting a login prompt. I suspect that this is the intended behavior, but all of our other Shib-enabled campus services have a login link. More problematic is the fact that on logging out of the staff client, it simply logs me in again. Does anyone have any experience with this new feature? I'm wondering how to avoid automatic login without having to click a login link, and how to log out without having it log me in again. I suppose an alternative would be not to use the "staffShibOnly" setting and instead alter the login page template to remove the local login section. Oauth Authethication and redirection

We are using Google Oauth and out of the box it seems that after login users get redirected to the opac homepage. Does anybody have any idea how to securely make sure that the users get to the intended url after login and not drop to the homepage?

Batch item modification: barcodes including space are not found

Hi, the barcodes of my items usually include a space as a separator between internal subfields (e.g. AA 001). While I never had any trouble when dealing with them at MySQL level, I find out now that the "Batch item modification" tool is not able to find barcodes including a space. I even tried to escape it or to include the whole string between inverted commas. Should I report this as a bug (possibly involving other "special characters"), or is there a way to circumvent the problem? Many thanks and best regards, Giuseppe.

Newly cataloged materials alerts?

Does Koha have a feature that allows users to get email alerts about materials that are new and/or updated? I'm looking for something like Millennium/Innovative "Preferred Search", which allows users to save a search, and get emailed at regular intervals with matching results. In our current system, the trigger that identifies "new" records is an update to the "cat date" field in the record. Therefore, users get emailed about records that are both new and updated/recatalogued. So far, it looks like Koha would either offer RSS feeds, or else permit using an Item Type (this would not work for us-the "trigger" needs to be date-dependent), to achieve this kind of functionality. Are there other options for getting this kind of behavior for individual users (perhaps 200 people), who only care about specific call number series, or specific items, that have been updated, say, in the last week?
