Koha August release with security fixes

Hi all, The Koha community is proud to announce the release of August versions: 25.05.03 (v25.05.03-1) 24.11.08 (v24.11.08-1) 24.05.13 (v24.05.13-1) 22.11.30 (v22.11.30-1) It is a bugfix/maintenance release including some security fixes. It is highly recommended to upgrade. Tarballs will follow soon. Notes: Due to the 22nd falling on a Friday this month, we opted to move the release to the 26th. We are aware of some bugs regarding database updates on 25.05 releases. As soon as these have adequate patches that pass QA, we will aim to release v25.05.03-2 including them. In the meantime you can monitor Bugs 40528 and 40292. There’s also a manual fix to resolve 40528. Please feel free to reach out on Mattermost for assistance or comment on the respective bug. Fix confusion between 099 and 942 field in UNIMARC framework

Hi Some weeks ago I submitted a patch in order to fix the management of Koha-specific fields in UNIMARC. https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=38336 If you're familiar with the way Koha manage UNIMARC and think you can make a constructive comment, don't hesitate. Cloudflare setup

As I mentioned a while back, I've set up Anubis on our Koha server. But I read yesterday that AI bots from Huawei now meet the Anubis challenge, and it's only a matter of time before other bots do, too. In case Anubis isn't able to handle this problem, I may need to move our library to Cloudflare. I've seen some tutorials from ByWater about this, but we don't use ByWater and their tutorials seem to be saying, "Trust us, we'll fix everything except for a few DNS changes you need to make." So was hoping to hear from some non-ByWater Koha users who use Cloudflare. I understand that using Cloudflare means changing the server's IP address and fiddling with DNS. Although I'm not in control of our domain's DNS, I can probably train the guy who is in control to do the right thing. But I'm uncertain about what needs to be done for SIP2 access. We have enabled SIP2 so that things like Kanopy can look up patrons. But it's not clear to me what I'd need to do for SIP2 after the switch to Cloudflare. Is it just a DNS change or is there something more I need to do? Thanks in advance for help with this and with any other issues I'm not aware of. -- I'm trying to live my life -- a task so difficult it has never been attempted before. --Ashleigh Brilliant

Automated MARC record ordering (bug 34355)

Is anyone using or testing this functionality added in 24.11? I'm spending mad amounts of time trying to get the software working reliably, as we want to use it to support the EBSCO ordering workflow EOCR, but I am having lots of problems. Sometimes records update (new items and baskets), sometimes they don't, so far only the first file is being dealt with by the script, and I have at least 6 other puzzles. I did go out on Mattermost but had no replies to a specific question I raised there a few days back. Maybe I am on my own here... BTW, if in testing, anyone is using the default upload/staging directory, make sure you add a matchpoint/value pair in the Marc Order account even if you have only one vendor proposing to supply data. In one test I didn't, and it wasn't pretty. The script started to deal with every file in the reservoir (not just my test file) and by the time our support company started work and killed the processing, over 1,000 files had part-processed and baskets created, and some data even imported. In retrospect my running tests on both our production and test servers to try to make fast progress working out how this complex functionality works was... unwise (read 'ridiculously silly'!). .
