Hello I'm testing Koha, I downloaded the Virtual Machine preconfigured. I inserting some books and all works fine... but the problem is when I try to Place Hold a book, appear this warning message: "Sorry, none of these items can be placed on hold." I read the documentation and I understood I have to configure the Circulation and fines rules. Hi Daniel, your "holds allowed (count)" column says 0. If you leave the field empty when adding a new rule it will default to 0. Enter a high value like 999 if you don't want to restrict the number of holds that can be placed for this library/itype/patron category combination. Katrin

Hi Daniel, beside the circulation matrix there are some more places in Koha which influence the possibility to place a hold on an item. Check also your system preferences. You can try to search with 'hold' or 'reserve' in system preferences to find them. Are you trying to place a hold on an available item? Check your settings for AllowOnShelfHolds. Katrin

Ciao Katrin Thanks a lot for your support now the place hold system is working. Now I want to explain you my problem. We want to create a library with a self check-in check-out system whitout a librarian. The person reserve the book and go by self and take the book without any approval from the librarian.
