This may not help, but... We found that if the label size in the template was too small to fit the data requested, then the label in the pdf simply did not contain that data. Just to test this, try making the label size much bigger, and see whether anything appears. Hope that helps, Agnes

Hi Chris, I'd like to see if these errors go away when you upgrade. 3.0.5 will be released in a few days. It may be good to wait until then to upgrade. If similar errors occur after the upgrade, send me a new log output, and I'll look at it again. I still have not had time to send off the patch for the splitting issue, but hope to next week sometime. Your tech guys are correct: Koha is not packaged (ie. rpm, deb, etc) atm. However, they should be able to run 'perl Makefile.PL --prev-install-log /path/to/koha-install-log' and then 'make upgrade' to get there. After putting the issue on hold for a couple of months, we got back to it this week. I successfully upgraded to 3.00.05 today and ran the label generator again, and all the same problems I had before are still there. Here is the error message generated in the koha-error_log: label-print-pdf.pl: failed to parse label formatstring: Title at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Labels.pm line 862., referer: http://koha-test.lrs.edu:8080/cgi-bin/koha/labels/label-manager.pl?op=add&batch_id=33&itemnumber=3242&itemnumber=78114&itemnumber=78821&itemnumber=78822&itemnumber=82406&itemnumber=87005 That occurs 24 times in two seconds against a test batch of six records. We still only get a barcode and material number, and the spine labels still are not splitting correctly. Any thoughts where to go from here? I have attached a PDF of our barcode generation (barcode[1].pdf). It should include the title, call number, barcode, and author, as mentioned above. You can see it does not. The second PDF attached (barcode[2].pdf) is the spine label generation from the same batch. You can see that it does not provide the entire call number. Here is a link to one of the items in our catalog that is part of that batch:

In fact, to even get that much, I had to turn off the "Split Call Numbers" feater. :(
3. Will submit comment to bug 2500 soon
Looking at your LCCN call number format: 'BV 4501.2 .L82 1991' it appears your catalogers insert a space which the algorithm does not anticipate between 'BV' and '4501.2.'
The fix is trivial and I'll submit a patch for it in the next few days.
4. We just submitted a request to our IT team for any error-logs.
Great as it is not clear why the bibs are not printing correctly.
