Hi Heather, I just tested in master and you can make the lost value visible again in the default framework. I think you just have to keep in mind, that it won't work the same as when using it from the 'items tab'. But if that is not a problem for your workflow, you can use it as before. Hope this helps, Katrin Am 08.12.2015 um 17:28 schrieb Hernandez, Heather:
Hi, Elaine (& all)--
Well, *all* our records are in the default framework!:) It's just simpler to manage, since I import all new records from OCLC via the gateway export into that one framework, and when I need to make fields visible it's just easier to edit the default framework and have it work on all the records. (A few times a year I have to make fields visible to edit since Koha seems to come with a lot of commonly used fields hidden, I guess to make it simpler for folks who are not so familiar with MARC.)
I'm *so* eager to try to the new cataloging interface, though, for record editing (I hope it does editing!) but I would still use one framework for all records--managing all those different frameworks doesn't really make sense to me. But, of course, I'm coming from an OCLC workflow perspective (i.e., one MARC21 record--picking different flavors of it in Connexion just causes different default fields to display, not to store a record in a whole different framework.)
We'll manage, though, with the new "lost" workflow, I'm sure--we always do!

We're in the same boat as Heather. I can sort of see why large public and university libraries may want to do things differently, but if you're a small research collection like ours, this is awkward.
Heather, at least in our catalogue, the Lost status being hidden in the editor only occurs in the default framework.

For the benefit of others, the better way to set lost status is from the record Details page by selecting the Items tab from those at left.
I tried reading through the bugzilla on this to understand why it was changed, but I'm afraid not enough of it was in "librarian" for me to understand!:) This is going to cause us more work, since I'd have to click "Items" in the tab on the left to set the status to missing, then go to another place (click the "Edit" button, then select "Edit items," then click in the item to edit) to enter a non-public note about such things as when the item was searched. It's been faster to click "edit" on the correct item to set its lost status & enter the non-public note information in one "edit" step.
But we're still on 3.18, and I haven't any experience yet with 3.20+, so I might be misunderstanding! Also, we don't charge fines--did I read the bugzilla correctly enough to understand that the interaction to the patron record wasn't happening correctly on lost items, and it was decided not to correct the problem if one set the item to lost via clicking "Edit" next to the correct item record in the staff "Normal" display?
