One thing to note: binary MARC (ISO-2709) has a size limit (around 64k, I've heard) that is likely not enough for your many items; best to use MARCXML for this kind of import, as it is unrestricted for size. I believe the minimum requirements include the $a, $b, and $y subfields, but you can obviously add barcodes ($p), location ($c), or whatever.
