MJ, I didn't make a comprehensive study of the issue and my point was really just to say, it is pretty darn confusing to someone who wants to do it right! To people who have been using Bugzilla and submitting RFCs, it might be perfectly clear. But it is far from clear to me. And I'd like to help make it more clear but I haven't really sorted it out myself yet! I don't mean at all to devalue anyone's hard efforts. I am a big fan of Koha and the community. My goal is to make it easier for more libraries to join the fold so when I see an impediment, I want to at least point it out and help if I can. I will continue to work on this and try to understand the pieces and how their work together. Once I get it, I can make some specific suggestions about how we can make it easier for the next person that is trying to get started. various RFCs that exist on the wiki relate to the bugs in Bugzilla and could not figure it out. Some are in one place but not the other. I tried to find a hold-related RFC that seemed to match up with items in Bugzilla to no avail.
Which items in Bugzilla?
Seriously, it is very demotivating to get complaints that things are broken, but not the information about what those things are, so we can't even try to fix them.
Many people have been trying to improve linking between the different resources (after years of being held back by previous hosting IMO) but my priority has been on things which will free up developer time. I've started adding comments to bugs with links to patches emails where they don't already exist, for example, to make it easier for people to see what patch emails were sent about a bug.
Hope to hear more about which items in Bugzilla soon, -- MJ Ray (slef), member of www.software.coop, a for-more-than-profit co-op.
