Hi All I'm going to be a dissenting voice on this. (There's always one) I much prefer hea because it has an open data license. I'm totally fine with reinventing the wheel when the wheel is proprietary :) Chris On 13 December 2016 5:19:29 AM NZDT, Nathan Curulla <nate@bywatersolutions.com> wrote:
Hi Everyone,
I agree completely with Sebastian’s suggestion. I don’t see any reason to re-invent the wheel. Let’s link the page on the KC website to Marshall’s map. It is an already established site and is very easy to use and navigate. It is a win for the KC because we don’t need to re-do all of that work, and it is a win for Marshall because it will bring more traffic to his site! Sebastian, perhaps we can get together with Liz and anyone else who would like to be involved in this and talk about how it would look.
All the best,
-Nate

Dear all,
Thank you for your contributions and ideas. I think that we should link/embed Marshall Breeding's map https://librarytechnology.org/libraries/map.pl?ILS=Koha <https://librarytechnology.org/libraries/map.pl?ILS=Koha> at koha-community.org <http://koha-community.org/>. The main point is to provide newcomers interested in Koha with reassurance that Koha is stable, mature, and implemented throughout the world in libraries of all types. Marshall Breeding's site provides descriptions of the libraries (size, circulation) and links to their opacs. We do not need to reinvent the wheel, just a map that provides someone interested in Koha with the information they are seeking.
-Sebastian
