Thanks Owen. I was able to open the file eventually. The file was downloaded as Koha2.2.9-w32-R1[1] The .Exe extension was replaced by [1] hence the file could not be opened since windows could not determine the file type. So, renamed the file to Koha2.2.9-w32-R1.Exe and that did the magic. I have since installed Koha. Many thanks for your prompt response. Koha 2.2.9 is very old, and the Windows version is not supported by anyone I know of. Work has been done to get Koha 3.x working on Windows but it's not ready yet. You might try the LiveCD instead: http://mizstik.com/projects/koha-livecd/
