Greetings,

I don't know, but here is my guess.

Those two file formats (.dat or .rtf) probably could be renamed as .mrc or
.mrk.

If you open those files in wordpad and see something like:
--- BEGIN SNIPPET ---
=020 \\$a971-508-125-8
=100 1\$aVirgilio S. Almario$eauthor
=245 10$aIbong Adarna
=260 \\$c1980
=300 \\$a32
=386 \\$b73$cPhp
=500 \\$aThree princes went on a journey to catch the elusive and
enchanting Adarna bird, to cure the sickness of their father, the King. One
of the best known Filipino folk stories, Ibong Adarna is filled with
adventure and magic.
=521 0\$a9+
=546 \\$aFilipino (Tagalog) with English translation
=700 1\$aJordan Santos$eillustrator
--- END SNIPPET ---
Then it is a .mrk file

If you open those files in wordpad and see something like:
--- BEGIN SNIPPET ---
00582nam 2200157 a 45000010007000000050017000070080041000240940015[CUT OFF
INTENTIONALLY]
--- END SNIPPET ---
This it is a .mrc file

You could then use MarcEdit (http://marcedit.reeset.net/downloads) to clean
up your data and make sure you have a .mrc file.

You will need =952 fields to import nicely into Koha. I think
http://bywatersolutions.com/2014/10/17/preparing-records-koha-import/ does a
great job of describing some steps you likely need to do.

Hope this helps.

GPML,
Mark Tompsett
