Yes.  You cam scan the barcode directly from the label and it is placed into the database.  And yes, that barcode is what Koha uses for issuance return and stock taking.

You may set Koha to automatically generate barcode numbers (if you want to print your own) or you may use numbers that you already have (from pre- printed labels, or in our case we use our accession numbers).
