Released versions are listed here

Release cycle is usually 6 months, even numbers only, like
3.06.00  10/2011
3.08.00  04/2012
3.10.00  11/2012 (delayed one month)

Minor/ bugfix versions are released monthly, like
3.08.01 05/2012
3.08.02 06/2012
3.08.03 07/2012

Please note that 3.8 and 3.08 are the same, so your 3.06 is not
awfully old, 3.0.6 would be though.
