[Koha] Problems with items and barcodes in 3.4 is it zebra glitch?

Finally got a chance to sit down with my IT guru and look at this.  He says
we've got sufficient memory for the processing.  There's something happening
with the zebra indexing.  After installing the latest update and rebuilding
the zebra, everything looked and worked as it should.  Then I went in and
changed one character in one record and then the saved record showed no
items in the short list, and when I searched for the barcode associated with
that record's item the search failed.  The item information is there if you
go to the record. Unmodified records were still ok (as of midnight last
night British Summer Time).
He' has updated the bug [6435] with more technical information.

This problem has caused a slight snag in our cataloguing routine, I'm just
glad we don't yet use Koha for circualtion!
