[Koha] Custom Report

Has anyone ever done a custom report where you can see the items and
their holding info? The issue is when we did our catalog import a bunch
of our items did have copy info import with it. We want to see which of
these items it is effecting. I am thinking that a SQL statement would be
the best but I really have no idea where to start with this one.
