[Koha] Problems intalling Koha 3.0.1 stable on Ubuntu server 8.04

Thommy,

Most of your problems seems related to your hostname, koha3.

I suspect that your machine can not reach itself using this name. Can
you try to ping i.e.

ping koha3

you should get something like

PING koha3 (<Your IP>) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from koha3 (<Your IP>): icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.016 ms
64 bytes from koha3 (<Your IP>): icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.014 ms
64 bytes from koha3 (<Your IP>): icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=0.016 ms
[...]

if you get

ping: unknown host koha3

it means that your computer can not be reach using koha3.

If this is the case, using localhost as hostname during the install
should solve your problem.

My 2 cents (in Canadian dollars, so it's 1.6 cents, USD) :)

Eric
