Hi Steve,
There are several consortia I am aware of that are implementing Koha,
including but not necessarily limited to Northeast Kansas Library
System (my system), Southeast Kansas Library System, Central Kansas
Library System, INCOLSA, MASSCAT, WALDO, ICAN (Ohio), and Big Country
Library System (Texas). INCOLSA is maintaining a Koha consortia
discussion list at koha-consort at incolsa.net . Please feel free to
contact INCOLSA and sign up for that so you can post questions.
We operate in a shared database environment in which users can place
holds on items in all participating libraries. Libraries are
essentially treated as branches. Individual have individual policy
profiles except where only one global setting is allowed, but as much
as possible they agree to share consistent policies regarding item
types, circulation periods, etc. Libraries also use collection codes
to identify collections within their libraries. Feel free to look at
our OPAC at http://catalog.nexpresslibrary.org/ and our project web
site at http://www.nexpresslibrary.org/. If you have specific
questions contact me anytime.
