[Koha] transferring information

Does anyone know if there is a way to transfer all the books I have on 
our old, really old, version of KOHA computer to the new 3.0 version 
that our IT guy installed on another computer.  He said the version we 
are using now is so old that he couldn't just update it.
I hate to think that I will have to input every book again.
Our IT guy is excellent, but knows almost nothing about  library stuff.  
I know nothing about computers.
