My error on the package name. Sorry about that. I did find the following

The correct command is sudo apt-get install libgcrypt11-dev
libgpg-error-dev

I tried both of the packages you suggested however, both of them return
the
error "Couldn't find package".  

Thanks for your response, but now I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't
try a
different distro.
