[Koha] Koha install problem

I am installing KOHA on an amd64 dual core running ubuntu 6.06. 
When I issue this command: perl -MCPAN -e 'force install MARC::File::XML'
I get this at the end:

  make test had returned bad status, won't install without force
Pragma force used without method: cannot continue

Notice I use the force command.  I installed Marc.pm and this does not 
seem to help.  Anyone have an idea.  I have googled a ton to find an 
answer and come up short each time.
