Hi, Brooke,

Well, this is try 2 at a response after a computer crash here, so a quick thank-you for your reply, and onwards before something else goes wrong on this end.

After writing, I did some more checking and what I eventually discovered in my personal Koha archive was that Phill H. had written a while back (March 2005 IIRC now) that the 856u did work in the classic template set-up of Koha, but not in the NPL template set-up of Koha that he, like so many us, want to use.

Are you using "Koha-classic", Brooke, or the Koha-NPL style? If NPL style, where/how do I "flip the proper switches in parameters to display from 856u"? I don't see anything like that in parameters.

That admitted, I probably should remember the important computer science info that the programmers are always reminding us to include when asking questions of this sort, as perhaps it is only a matter of me (and others) needing to use a later version of Koha: my current set-up is with Koha 2.2.3 (forgot to note what version Phill was using if he had included that info in his posting).

BTW, Brooke, I love that 'Click the URL, I'm an E-book' idea: I plan to steal that! ;-)

Thanks again for the reply, Brooke. Hopefully, I'm not taxing your patience too much in asking for yet more, please.

Cheers,

Koha does already do this. For instance, I have the Tale of Genji linked
up and Free Culture linked up in my catalogue. I can't show anyone yet,
because my local ISP is giving me issues with trying to get to the
catalogue externally, but it does work. You just have to make sure you
flip the proper switches in parameters to display from 856u. I tag my
locations as Click the URL I'm an Ebook.
Now what would be truly awesome would be to have Dublin Core support in
addition to MARC, but I know how taxed everyone already is. And I
definitely think that having happy subfields in 650 would take
precedence.

Cheers,
Brooke @ Hinsdale
