[Koha] IndependentBranches consequences

Hi. My Koha is running for many years.
Now I want to turn ON IndependentBranches preference.
On manual
(https://koha-community.org/manual/18.05/en/html/systempreferences.html?highlight=independent)
says:
    *Important*
    It is important that this value be set before going live and that it NOT
be changed

Does anyone knows what are the consequences or problems if I turn it ON?
