[Koha] search results and what exactly get indexed in the 245

[Hillyard, Cecil]

We did an advanced search for title "David" and author "David Shannon" (without quotes) and not phrase searches and ended up with 79 results.  Of these 79 it looks like only 12 have David in the title.  Is the 245 $c field also being searched in the title index?
